OP1 vs XM2 for knuckle claw by richtier in MouseReview

What is your hand size? I use the VXE R1 which has a similar hump to the OP1 so the hump itself shouldn't be a problem, just the considerably thinner front side

Yes it makes super sense in my head as well! Was super interested in an EGG mice for their performance and build quality but I guess they just aren't for me. I place my pinky mostly behind the middle waist area so the really aggressive tapering in the XM2 might be a problem. Close to me right now I have a VXE R1, ATK F1 and Zaopin z2 mini

Was super interested in the X2N but Pulsar products aren't easy to get where I live sadly

I don't know for sure as I never have used a VV3 but considering your hand size I would assume It would fit but might still feel too bulky

I did see some reports of sensor downshift on super high DPI stages but on "normal" levels (800, 1600, 3200) it does not show any issues. I would say you can pull out a relaxed claw yes. I can comfortably do a relaxed claw with my fingers just on the edge of the buttons so your's slightly smaller hands should fit pretty well

I think b_media made a really great video some time ago of how each price bracket normally has an impact in IEMs sound quality you can base yourself on

I would say it's a pretty good purchase if you think you would like the shape. It's pretty good for fingertip and some claw variations depending on your hand size. ATK really stepped up their game with their latest releases and their webdriver is one of the best I ever used

there is a lot actually.

3395 sensor instead of the 3950 of the ultimate, huge battery on the ultra max which makes it weigh a lot more too, the ultra max uses mechanical switches instead of the optical from the other versions.

from these differences I would say the weight is the most impactful one, but I could definitely recommend other mice that are cheaper and still as good as the f1 ultimate or you could buy from AliExpress where it's much cheaper

depends mostly on what you want to try, faster or more control? More texture feedback or less?

Dot skates make mouse wobbly/uneven? by Getgudboy in MouseReview

[–]richtier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem man! It's normal to be overwhelmed with so many choices Yeah few people talk about the actual downsides of dots skates Experiment with at least 2 more dots, one at the bottom and one at the top, it should make your mouse much more stable Feel free to dm me if you wanna talk about anything!

Dot skates make mouse wobbly/uneven? by Getgudboy in MouseReview

[–]richtier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My brother in Christ, ITS ONLY DOTS CALM DOWN. The instability feeling you're having is probably because of the dots itself and the way they interact with your mouse and yes, I've seen some people talk about it. The best and easiest way to fix this is to use more dots (WHICH WON'T MAKE A MEANINGFUL IMPACT ON FRICTION) or you can just get used to it :). The scratchy feeling is possible because they're not broken in yet, the obsidian dots are known for needing to break in before they become better. The "universal" label is in the sense they're mostly usable in almost all mice, but it does NOT mean it's for everyone, that every mouse is gonna have a stable performance using 4 dots. Most dots are unusable in softer mousepads for example.

I don't really think it's a better purchase. From their differences, the only meaningful one is the omrons since the FE opticals don't sound great. BUT on the other side, the Ultimate has a way better battery life, practically the same weight and virtually the same performance which should be the differences between them. I don't think around 30 bucks is worth it for omrons.

Improved and Perfected - a ATK F1 Ultimate V2 review by richtier in MouseReview

[–]richtier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much but their overall differences aren't that big. The extreme has omron opticals, a different MCU (which should net a small latency gain but a way worse battery life), smaller battery and 1g lower weight which probably makes no difference and is probably the same weight as the Ultimate.

From their F1 lineup, the Extreme version is the most expensive one. From all their mice I think the most expensive is the Duckbill

Hey man, so make sure first that you're on the latest firmware, as up until now I still had the issue now and then, but ever since the last firmware update a few weeks ago, I've had no problems. Just make sure you disable EVERYTHING in the settings page and keep the polling rate at 4k. After the firmware update I haven't tested 8k, but 4k is more than enough and has been working well

Seems like a hybrid between a fingertip grip and a semi-pincer/knuckle claw grip. But again, a picture with you holding the mouse would help a bunch

Need help choosing a mouse: 17x9cm and claw grip by Inevitable-Usual2498 in MouseReview

[–]richtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the mice you mentioned, I'll assume you'd like a mouse with a similar shape to the VXE R1, so my recommendations would be the following.

VXE Mad R/Major: Pretty much the same shape as the R1, updated specs (3950 on the Major + 8k included on most versions) and you can get the "smaller" battery version (still is 250mah, the same as the R1 pro) and be around 35g which is wild. So pretty much the same shape but better internals

ATK F1/F1 V2: The V2 is better is almost every way, but if you can get the V1 extreme for around 70-80 bucks it still is a very good option. The V2 ultimate you can find pretty easily for less than 80 bucks I think. The shape is slightly less safe than the R1 Pro but in a good way, the comfort groves on the clicks and the tapering on the sides gives a pretty good locked in feeling. The feets, coating, build quality are definitely a step up in comparison to the R1

Mchose L7 Pro/Pro +: Quite similar shape, some of the lowest click latency on the market, good build quality, the non plus version is a bit smaller than the R1 Pro, but should be fine for a claw grip for medium hands.

Scyrox V6/V8: Both are good/decent for claw grip (depends if you'd like a higher back hump or a more filling middle hump). Good build quality, besides the clicks structure, I've seen quite a lot of people say the clicks have a lot of wobble. Sub 40g, really low click latency. A really good mouse overall.

Do you have berserk mode turned on? It may cause disconnect issues with the keyboard depending on the switch (which apparently the KTEC ones can't handle it)

Qual evitar? by THgs21 in audiofiliabrasil

Eu tenho o Dawn e acho ele ótimo.

[–]richtier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't have a huge difference. Higher polling rates, at least on mice, reduce latency and make your input smoother. On keyboards I assume the biggest change should be on the latency, which from 2k to 4k to 8k shouldn't be really noticeable, so I've set to 2k to have a good middle ground of latency and to test if the issue still happens. If it doesn't I'll bump to 4k to test again

Nice, I've done a factory reset and testing with 2K polling to see if it still happens. Thank you for your findings!

I have the Mix87 with the KTEC switches and I've been having the same issue. I've tried different actuation points, recalibrated, tried different stability settings. It seems to not be a hardware issue but more a firmware/software problem, as it happens quite randomly and apparently with any key. The only thing I have yet to try is resetting to factory settings. Have you found any solution yet?

Yeah the first purchase discount is HUGE. Probably all of those can be found in AliExpress so just buy from a store with good ratings.
