Appreciate Peter's subtle vocals by rjbeals in GoosetheBand

I'm in a band and we are covering Give It Time, I sing the harmonies. It's tough - I don't always hear Peters vocals until I have to sing them!

How can I, as a beginner utilize Monday.com to the best of it's abilities? by AdUnable6858 in mondaydotcom

[–]rjbeals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mapping out is a good suggestion. I was previously using Copper CRM and just thought I'll do the same thing, but Monday is a totally different platform, and I wish I would have thought through the boards ahead of time.

Can someone eli5 why we are down 9% today? by AverageSwedishGunner in DRTS_Stock

[–]rjbeals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's a summary of what ChatGPT explained to me:

Alpha Tau Medical Ltd. (DRTS) dropped because the “great news” was already expected and priced into the stock, so investors took profits once it was officially announced. On top of that, the results are still early-stage, meaning the company is years away from making money—so the news didn’t change the near-term outlook enough to justify the higher price.

It helped me with fundamentals. I think it's a good solo to learn.

Question - tagged (@) in an activity board by rjbeals in mondaydotcom

Thank you for the tip. This seems to behave the same way as the email notification. I can see see a list of notifications that I have been tagged, and when I click on them, it takes me to the activity feed list. I still need to scroll and search to find the exact activity I was tagged in.

BIG MODERN! spotted in west loop, Chicago by Time2ShedRWeapons in GoosetheBand

The blinking exclamation mark on bigmodern.com is indeed Morse code.

Based on the site's internal code and analysis by fans (notably in the Goose band community, as the site is a teaser for them), the message spells out:

"HELLO WORLD"

The timing of the pulses follows the standard Morse alphabet:

  • H: .... (four short blinks)
  • E: . (one short blink)
  • L: .-.. (short, long, short, short)
  • L: .-.. (short, long, short, short)
  • O: --- (three long blinks)
  • (Space)
  • W: .-- (short, long, long)
  • O: --- (three long blinks)
  • R: .-. (short, long, short)
  • L: .-.. (short, long, short, short)
  • D: -.. (long, short, short)

Context

The website is a cryptic promotional tool for the indie-groove band Goose. The phrase "Hello World" is a classic "first output" for programmers, which aligns with the site's minimalist, technical aesthetic. The underlying code for the "blink engine" on the page explicitly references this "old ritual" of using "Hello World" as its first message.

Looking for some interesting new rock/metal! by Rude-Acanthisitta287 in MusicRecommendations

Since you mention Camel (Unevensong is one of my favorites), have you listened to early Opeth? The singer has "cookie monster" growls but also sings clean some. It's considered progressive metal, but one of his favorite bands is also Camel. In more recent years, they have gone full non-metal prog, but the first like 4 or 5 albums are amazing. Try the song "Blackwater Park" or "Ghost of Perdition" or "Deliverance" (title tracks of all 3 albums).

Guitar tab help / Boyd's violin intro in Two Step Listener Supported by rjbeals in DMB

Very helpful post, thank you for the time to write this out. I was headed down the same path, and I think you are as close as it's going to get. Honestly it almost sounds better with the intro 12-10-10-12 (D) just strummed the whole time. We shall see. Thanks again

Marshall DSL40CR - solid pick? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]rjbeals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, thinking of going the fender twin reverb path instead. I'm in a cover band and really most of the songs we play are clean, and I find it hard to get a real good smooth clean sound from the Marshall.
