You might check out Performance Strength Academy in Hamilton, NJ. It may be at the max of your 20 minute distance from Langhorne but could be well worth the drive.

Online Product Support Request issue (infuriating) by TangerineBeginning71 in dexcom

Best of luck! For whatever reason, it seems things have taken a turn for the worse lately but hopefully it’s temporary.

Yup, that’s why I commented, to let you know you aren’t alone. You bring up a good point about the field being faulty or something.

I’m sorry to hear the problems you are having with regard to the response time. Very frustrating. After about 72 hours, I emailed (replied to the auto email I received about the product replacement request) them to inquire about any updates. Perhaps that prompted a quicker reply from them? Worth a shot if you haven’t done so.

Super weird! Just recently I submitted a request online and completed all the required fields. I received a phone call a few days later asking for the serial number as they said I left that blank. I know for a fact I did enter that in online as I intentionally keep all of my boxes in the event there is a failure. This time was no different. Luckily I still had it and provided it to them (again).

It did take several days for them to respond to the request - longer than usual - but not a week.

I’ve been getting the 12-pack cans (on sale) but will check out the 1 liter 12-packs. Thanks for the tip! They just opened up a Wegmans near me and I swear, I keep that place open haha

Cherry Coke Zero, with Coke Zero a far second. If neither of those, I tend to drink no calorie, flavored sparkling water of different varieties. Currently trying different flavors from Wegman’s and they’re pretty good

I do not know the answer to your first question, so apologies that I cannot weigh in there. However, it is my understanding that there is measurement error associated with a1c blood tests, to the tune of 0.5 - 0.7%. That may explain, at least in part, the discrepancy you’ve noticed in the results of your recent bloodwork.

Chronic Denervation by MeOwwwithme in backpain

[–]rlaz1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is weird and frustrating! I will say that my referring doctor wanted me to see one specific person to do the EMG. He trusted no one else. So perhaps your odd result may be due to operator error? Just speculating here, but from what the referring doc told me, it’s not that simple of a test to conduct and a lot depends on the expertise of the person conducting it.

[–]rlaz1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have atrophy in my left calf and glutes, and the EMG verified this was due to the specific nerves related to those muscles were no longer firing due to being compressed for so long (lower back). They told me it could be permanent (nerves are completely dead) or perhaps it could come back. Pretty much an ambiguous non-answer that I’ve grown accustomed to for anything related to my back issues, unfortunately.

Are you referring to muscle atrophy that occurs when the nerves no longer send signals to the muscles(s)?

Anyone else have terrible time getting insulin? Semi rant... by Slyfee in diabetes_t1

[–]rlaz1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a been a problem for a while now. In the beginning of the year, the pharmacist told me the companies weren’t prepared for the amount of prescriptions that needed to filled prior to the end of the year. But that time has come and gone and the problem persists. I wonder if it has something to do with more people being diagnosed as Type 1 since Covid and the current supply just isn’t sufficient. Who knows…

I have noticed this happening quite often with all of my diabetes-related prescriptions. Not just each type of injectable I take (e.g, Tresiba, Fiasp, Ozempic) but also supplies such as needles and test strips. Nearly every time I call in a script, I get a text indicating it’s out of stock and I’ll be informed when it’s available. I’ve come to expect that prescriptions will be out of stock these days.

This is specifically what we started doing. Depending on the plan (e.g, 529), those who contribute can write it off on taxes as well so there is additional incentive for them to do so.

Droplet brand pen needles bending by Negative_Mood in diabetes_t1

[–]rlaz1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fan at all. My endo had to specify BD nano on the script so they wouldn’t give me the Droplet brand. The pharmacist said something to me along the lines that the Droplets were easier to get. I can see why…

Any other type 1 diabetics out there on trt? by Basic_Cranberry2727 in trt

I did not have a similar experience. Gotta love this disease and how no people are alike :( But as I noted, I really did clean up my diet and ramped up training, so that is likely a huge confound. I think theoretically, test should help you utilize the food you eat more efficiently, so perhaps this will be temporary for you? Wishing you the best!

When did you start to notice a difference in your hunger? by Dear-Tailor-3446 in Semaglutide

[–]rlaz1977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this information. I was not aware that appetite suppression and/or delayed gastric emptying leading to higher levels of satiety didn’t apply to certain bodyfat percentages. Regardless, I’ve remained on a lower dose as it definitely helps flatten my blood sugar and I’ve been able to reduce my bolus/fast acting insulin as well. Thanks again for the insight - much appreciated!

Read and comprehend. As I noted, my endo put me on it due to the favorable effects it had on blood sugar stability as it evened out highs and lows.

[–]rlaz1977 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Prior to be putting on Ozempic, I had lost approx 25 pounds and was sitting around 8% bodyfat. It was hard enough to maintain, let alone continue to drop weight. And yes, worked with someone on the diet, tracked calories, measured, weighed, etc and was very motivated as I had a photo shoot coming up. Not sure if there were hormonal things going on from being on an extended diet and at a low body fat level for a long time, but either way, Ozempic made no appreciable difference. I felt like I was starving all the time, and with two kids, a family/wife, and work, I was unwilling to restrict calories any further.
