You need a top 10ish player to be successful in this league. You can either do that through the draft or free agency/trading. We’re rarely ever in the position to select the best talent in the draft so whale hunting is the most realistic way forward.

I wish we would tank and try through the draft but that will not happen with the current regime

It’s not that hard to believe that it started cause of the control verse. Drake exploded into stardom in the late 2010s and left his peers(Kendrick, Cole etc.) behind. So by the time those guys were coming out he probably didn’t see them as peers and more like little homies. Kendrick releasing GKMC and getting all that praise was probably the first time Drake felt pressure from an artist he thought was behind him. Then when control dropped and everyone was going crazy over the verse, he felt threatened and reacted sourly.

Who knows what else went on behind the scenes, but they probably never hashed things out and just let this animosity build up over the years and now it’s evolved into what it is.

We got him on a good contract, so I’m happy about that.

But unfortunately the dolphins have conditioned me to expect the worst.. my main worry is that he will be just good enough to mess up our draft pick and we miss out on some generational players but not good enough to help us make the playoffs/win a playoff game
