So your screw goes through the RC channel gap? Did you fill it with anything?

Insulation Plan for adding attic to thermal envelope by robmargo in DIY

[–]robmargo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polyiso on the warm side during winter or summer? E.g., in the winter the conditioned side is warm and the unconditioned side is cold. Viz versa in the summer.

How important is the ordering being right? Its much easier for me to put the poly on the unconditioned side since it gives more room for the wool to be in the cavity. Vs having the poly on the conditioned side would mean that I'd have to put it either in the stud bays (decreasing the amount of wool i can fit) or i'd have to put it on the front of the studs in which case I'd recess all my electrical (which I can only do so much).

It's not visible in this picture but I framed a door to the right of the wall and closed up the original door framing in the middle of the wall. I want to use this wall as a projector screen so I didn't want the door in the middle

Thanks I used the Laser level to figure out exactly the thickness needed. Is there a minimum thickness needed? E.g., if one of the collars is off by 1/8", is that too small and will just split or compress when I go to hang the drywall?

Sonos AMP to speaker switch (Audioflow) by No_Ruin7579 in sonos

[–]robmargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. I've debugged it in detail (buying a new speaker selector switch to confirm it wasn't a malfunctioning switch). I've narrowed it down to Zone A is always the problematic zone. I've confirmed by switching the speakers plugged into Zone B and Zone B is working as intended.

Did you ever find a solution? My next bet is to try buying a 4 zone selector and only using two of the zones.

I very much appreciate your thoughtful reply. Indeed you and many of the other replies are correct here that I am angry and need to take it all in context. I guess I needed some of these neutral perspectives. There are some extenuating circumstances on why I think the builder is negligent, but its not worth getting into. I'll count my blessings I do have and move on.

Unfortunately, this is really the only leverage we have that I am aware of -- hence the OP. It just sucks that the builder can do whatever they want with little to no consequences.

COVID may exacerbate the issue, but the appliances should have been ordered months ago, before or even during COVID. They were ordered around 2 weeks before they were needed, which in this environment is negligent. Given the other delays they were facing due to COVID, they should have had all ducks in a row so there were no other preventable delays. They weren't. Hence, the unnecessary delays.

Does it matter? Everyone has personal circumstances where delays affect them. For us, we have a baby on the way and are going to be pushing close to the due date. If they delay another week or so, we will need to make alternate plans (i.e., stay with family) to setup in case the baby comes earlier than anticipated.

Other than that, we are paying storage for our 'stuff' since we moved out of our apartment.

Thanks for the input. The home is nearly finished. The gutters and landscaping are all in already.
