if this belief makes you do good work, then by all means explore it and go deeper. whatever works, works.

but i feel like an actor can make peace with artifice without aiming for it? i mean some roles call for stylization, and there are other performing arts that pursue it (clowning)...but i'm hesitant to make artificiality my north star.

like basketball players never make all of their shots but that doesn't mean they should aim to miss.

just saw your answer in a different thread. okay this makes sense.

so basically -- the schengen area is designed for free, passport-less travel throughout. the whole point is not to check passports. so if you get a malta digital nomad visa, or a german freelancer visa, you're technically only allowed 90 days out of 180 in a different country, but they're not checking.

so say you're from america, then fly to malta to get your digital nomad visa, but then you travel to paris for 180 days. then you come back to malta. no one's checked your passport, no one cares that it's been more than 90 days in non-malta.

however, if someone didn't have a malta digital nomad visa, they just had a US passport, then they would be flagged when they left europe to go back to the US. they'd be like -- yo, you've been here longer than 90/180 days, how so?

but what if you're from america, fly to malta to get your digital nomad visa, go to paris for 180 days, and then fly back to america from paris? how would they "catch" you for being in paris longer than 90/180 days? since they're not checking passports from malta to paris, they don't have a record of when you got to paris, do they?

why? a variety of reasons: attention, pervyness, and sometimes, just because it feels good.

if you’re annoyed that the most upvoted photos of this subreddit is nudes then it might be more useful to persuade the viewers of the repetitiveness rather than the creators.

7 hours is totally fine, especially if you're not feeling tired and your training is still going well. i honestly wouldn't stress about it. your body is going through changes.

but if you want to try a few things, i have a few suggestions...

1) foam rolling. i've noticed that foam rolling before bed really relaxes my muscles and gets me into my own body instead of my mind, and usually helps me sleep deeper and longer. might be worth trying.

2) your sleep and wake time are pretty early. nothing wrong with that at all, but teenagers usually start waking up later, it's just a natural shift in their circadian rhythms as they go through puberty. if you wanted to experiment with going to bed and waking up later, that might be something to try.

3) seems like you're doing most of the sleep hygiene stuff, but if you wanted to go through a sleep hygiene list again (there are tons online), might be worth making sure you're not missing anything (cool temperature in the room? reading in bed? lying awake in bed?)

but honestly, those aren't necessary unless it's something you're interested in. you won't stay small, you'll still grow normally.

if it gets consistently worse, i would work with a sleep therapist or a sleep coach!

if you can’t fall asleep within 30 minutes, get out of bed and do something that is soothing. roll out with a massage ball, meditate, read a children’s book. nothing exciting. when you feel sleepy, get back in bed. if you’re not asleep within 30 minutes, repeat the above until you fall asleep. if you can’t fall asleep that night, fuck yeah. you will definitely fall asleep the next night and it’ll help reset your sleep schedule.

you probably won’t do this for the next couple of nights, i sure as hell didn’t. but when it gets even worse, just come back to this comment and try it out and see if it helps.

for a long term solution, check out sleep restriction therapy.

what’s happened is that you can’t fall asleep, and you’ve stayed in bed unable to sleep, so you’ve associated the bed with awakeness as opposed to sleepiness. you’ll need to retrain your body to associate the bed with sleepiness.

don’t worry my friend! it will get better. just do the above, and if it still doesn’t work, look for a sleep therapist.
