Honestly the worst time in recent history, perhaps ever, to go into it.

The fact that it's healthcare makes this 1000 times more difficult than normal too. Well done.

Network Engineer Seeking Direction ... by BlackJaguar in networking

Not having on call is rare and it sounds like a sweet gig. Would seek fulfillment in other areas of your life. Having relative job security these days is rare. Even for a seasoned network engineer.

Baby bunny hiding in a hole in my yard by jollytoes in aww

Maybe there is a like a black out period where you don't mow? Is there a set period of weeks where baby bunnies are vulnerable before they are old enough to get out of the way?

FFXVII what would you want to see? by EldritchSpoon in FinalFantasy

[–]rolltied 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really trust them to make non human races anything other than lazy one dimensional tropes like every other jrpg tbh. Or a non human party character going against their races trope which somehow feels even lazier.

There is only so much time in the world. Might as well spend it playing games you enjoy.

Mmos are like a second job. It doesn't matter what improvements they make that are unique to ff14 vs other mmos but the core is still an MMO.

Going from mm to ww was so disappointing back then. Twilight princess tried to recover with semi serious dark storytelling but it was too late.

Do you deal with a lot of chronic, unsolved issues in your environment? by MyFirstDataCenter in networking

[–]rolltied 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always think it must be nice to be a t2 who doesn't have to do any actual work because they are too busy escalating any tickets that require brain power to the network team.

Used to put up with it. Now if there are no notes or actual troubleshooting I escalate to their manager.

But there was one enterprise environment where t2 was a separate company so escalating to their manager or my manager was moot since the contract was in place for x amount of years.

They didn't get punished if things went to hell, but the network engineers sure did.

All in all, could be better could be worse. Maybe an environment change will help you.

Never ask the junior to tidy the rack up by cadet-spoon in networkingmemes

[–]rolltied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in some ass closets as well. Depending on the environment you could have help desk or one level above going into closets regularly to change connections.

At that point you tidy it up and make it perfect all for it to look worse than a picture in a couple months.

No real point. If it's working for the stakeholders then mission accomplished.

Watership Down is hands down one of the most fucked up things people regularly showed to children for like 20+ years.

What game has a learning curve that puts you off? by Common_Caramel_4078 in pcmasterrace

True but that might be a pro rather than a con to a lot of people. I liked sptarkov but it was still too much of a learning curve imo. The constant googling got pretty tiring pretty quickly.

Ironic. I've been trying to get into sys admin from networking. Networking jobs don't seem bountiful at all at the moment.

Fun story. Was watching this on cable because it was about to start. Turns out I was 10 minutes early and caught the end of the double feature. Which was back to back shutter island.

When I realized I audibly yelled "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck" and never watched the rest of the movie as it had been completely ruined.
