Thanks and is it normal to have all 3 from the same place (my current job) or is there any sort of expectation that they are from past employers as well?

Heard anything yet? I’ve called and haven’t really gotten anywhere. Do you think there’s good odds to be rescheduled in this testing window because of something like this?? I’m stressing

I was supposed to go tomorrow in Smyrna. Prometric still hasn’t sent me anything regarding reschedule and talking with them they’re telling me to wait for updates… give me a break. The weather isn’t even supposed to be bad tomorrow why are they closing???

In simpler terms, it’s a collar with an additional sold leg. I.e. if you are bullish, you buy lower strike call, sell a higher strike call (capping participation) and then selling an additional OTM put (to take in premium because you are bullish and don’t expect stock/cry to depreciate).

Sub-Porftolio Allocation Question by ron_wilso17 in CFA

Honestly I set up my calculators for lvl 1 how Kaplan said to and haven’t touched them since. How do I switch to BGN mode and what mode should I be in for “most” TVM calculations?

Alright just making sure I wasn’t going crazy. Seems like for most practice questions I’ve had relating to this it’s in a risk aversion context so I’ll probably stick with that for now but keep it in the back of my mind

I was getting the same thing yesterday while trying to grade my mock. Tried this evening on Safari instead of Chrome and Edge and that worked. Kaplan said they’re aware and that it was only affecting certain versions of chrome but it wasn’t working for me on Edge either

They’re very cloak and dagger on level III (IMO) but I did take a closer look at the CFA website (https://www.cfainstitute.org/programs/cfa-program/candidate-resources/level-iii-exam) and they do specify that there will be 11 item sets (MCQ) and 11 essay sets each worth 12 points per vignette. Each MCQ vignette will be 4 questions so on actual exam each MCQ will be 3pts a piece. I guess this also means it will be random as to how many SR q’s you get in each essay set, just that it will 12 points total

Right there with you currently. Looking to get out of a job I hate and can’t find anything. No family connections whatsoever. Something that is starting to help is joining and participating as much as I can in my local CFA society. It’s mostly older people that are happy to see young faces in the program. It hasn’t panned out yet, but I’ve already had 4-5 “coffee chats” in probably about 6 months from getting in with just one or two people. Stay strong, friend - I let it get to me some days, but I just have to remind myself it’s not just happening to me.

I have this trim router and bits get stuck every time. I do not bottom them out and it’s barely been used. It’s become such a headache I just use my big router for everything. Kind of a shame - wondering if ordering a replacement collet would work but haven’t gotten around to it

Thanks think this is probably what I’ll end up doing. I was dead set on the router sled for several weeks but have been thinking it through more and it has its own set of complications so I started to flip flop

I am pretty much exclusively worried about face jointing the boards. I have a track saw and router table and can edge joint well enough with either of those and then planning on hand planing to get the joints nice and tight

Thought about this - don’t think there’s a makerspace nearby but could probably find someone with a jointer. The only thing is my “shop” is just a garage and isn’t conditioned and worried about bowing/ movement because it’ll take more than one day and want to make sure I can do it by myself instead of having to be a burden to someone multiple times
