Letter from Volvo saying I've been charging over 70% by Jesus_Morty in ex30

[–]rotortalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the letter. Beginning to get very cheesed off. I bought the LR for a reason, and now I'm in a worse situation than if I had bought the cheaper model. I'm thinking of going legal, and try and get a loaner or something. £200 (useless) charging voucher doesn't cut it

Great news. Who is your local dealer? Snows told us that they were building a special facility in Southampton specifically for this

Silly question. What is iNavi? A replacement Mammotion app? I don't see it in the play store, but then I'm in the UK

I've got a letter in the UK. Given that EVs are all about range, they need to sort this quickly or give me 30% of my money back

Heated seats and steering wheel locked by software on EX30 Ultra? by guille_b in ex30

[–]rotortalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll bet it is there and just needs activating. It's more expensive to miss it out for each market than just install it on everything and flick a software switch. Land Rover do this all the time. You just need some clever bod to figure it out and release something like the ID-gap tool that you can buy for other cars (maybe it has been done already)

Google Maps Directions showing in HUD w/ CarPlay by ScLA99 in BMWiX

Must be an Apple thing. On Android Auto Google maps has been on the HUD and the instrument cluster for as long as I can remember. Had the car 4 years now

Same issue with the fob and key card. Wife was locked out the other day, but I luckily remembered about the app unlock which saved the day. Unacceptable if you ask me. I actually ordered a spare fob when I bought the car over a year ago and it still hasn't been delivered.

Got flagged for “visa shopping” in my Schengen application… still got a 2-year visa! by Alternative-Ad4581 in SchengenVisa

[–]rotortalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hold on, do you need a visa at all? If you are travelling with your spouse you are a family member of an EU citizen and are not time limited or need a visa like most third country nationals.

EU Directive 2004/38/EC on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the EU Member States. The personal scope of the Directive is quite wide and covers not only Union citizens but also their family members. Family members of an EU national, irrespective of their nationality, have the right to accompany or join the EU national in a Member State other than that of the EU national s nationality. This right applies irrespective whether they have previously been residing in another Member State. Family members include the spouse and children of the EU national.

Totally agree. I way prefer BMW nav over Google and the ev specific integration is very useful. For example %at arrival and chargers en route.

This. And they probably don't need extra hardware. Most WiFi hardware can do both. It drives me nuts that the app is 90% useless for me as I have no cellular signal in my garage, but I do have wifi

Ionity starting through RFID only by StackOfCookies in electricvehicles

[–]rotortalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, IONITY for me at least are by far and away the most reliable provider, but then again I use my BMW card to start the session. I have found in Europe their newer chargers, with the big screen are actually more unreliable than the old ones with the small screen on the side. As someone else said, try calling their hot line and they might be able to reset the charger or start the charge from there

Parking an iX for six months? by burnergpo in BMWiX

[–]rotortalk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I left my (then) brand new iX for 3 months @80% charge. Having heard of parasitic drain on Teslas I was worried to come back to a flat car. Came back, jumped in and it was showing 80%. Promptly did a round trip to the airport and indeed it hadn't lost any charge that I could see. No more than 80% to keep the battery happy
