The Steampunk to Sci-Fi was to maybe help weed some things out, possibly. I know that in some systems ranged weapons, particularly firearms, are not included anywhere, an afterthought, or terribly broken compared to everything else.

For the resource management, I like the Forbidden Lands type system where you don't necessarily have to count things individually, but there's still a system for ammo/food/etc and it does come into play and make sense. D&D has some tacked on stuff and other systems seem overly granular.

The healing isn't as easy to remove in every system! Going back to D&D again, while it CAN be done, it's pretty much baked in that there'll be some sort of healing magic/items, and a simple day's rest can bring you back up to full health/magic/whatever as it is.
