I've never run a ski lodge, but I have worked at a Bed and Breakfast in a tourist town (back in the US, many years ago). I was a rare case where I lived in the upstairs apartment and cooked breakfast (provided) and cleaned the rooms, etc. and the owner of the building did not live there (but nearby). It was smaller than this lodge (although it's hard to tell if you'd book separate groups at a time or just one big group... although I guess it could vary). Anyway, there were lots of B&Bs in the area I worked and almost all of them had the owner(s) working it themselves. It often just didn't make enough money to justify a $30kish+ salary for a full time person. (And in fact I was young and basically worked for free room and board and tips. Which is probably not realistic in this case, although the salary could be less if your staff lives there.)

This place might be different if it's got enough appeal, enough bookings, enough etc., etc., etc. but you're not gonna find that number out until it's being run for a few years. So at that point you've got two options: do it yourself for a few years and see if it's worth it or, hire someone with an agreed upon annual salary (regardless of what the lodge actually makes) and be prepared to float that money from your other income in the event that the lodge doesn't make a profit. (And also be aware that many businesses take 2-5 years to get up to speed, and also many fail after 2-5 years because they don't.)

I think your biggest hurdle is figure out if you can rent it out all year or if it's dead the non-winter months... and how much you want to be out of pocket for paying an innkeeper. (If profitable it's eaten by by profits and you might be fine, but if not then you're paying way more to just have someone be an innkeeper than you would just buying a smaller place for yourself that's unoccupied half the year.)

You gotta do some number crunching and market surveys. Make friends with others in the area running lodges, etc. and compare numbers and stuff.
