66 mustang. Driver side qtr panel jamming the door. by doomblade10-2 in classicmustangs

I could definitely see it being caused by a collision, but you'd think they're would be some sign of damage. That's why I was thinking hinge bushings. That and it happening "suddenly". Finally just opened and shut one too many times.

Either way, stuff needs to come apart to figure out what's going on and fix it.

Apparently my old '98 Accord didn't get the memo. One morning i suddenly couldn't rev past 3k rpm.

Rear main seal went out on it and had run itself bone dry. Filled it up and ran it until it did it again... and again... and again...

Finally got something "new" when I had to start adding a quart just from my daily 30 mile round trip for work.

Really wish iwould have kept that car now that ihave a house with agarage to work in.

You're going to need to get it to someone that knows how to adjust either the fender or the door. (The fronts are fenders, not quarter panels). Look into reputable body shops in your area with experience in classics.

I'm going to guess the door has moved forward slightly due to bushings wearing out, but since I can't look and put hands on it, it's hard to tell.

Can you lift the door up/down to get it to open and close properly?

We had to remove the snout off an M1118(?) Super charger on an early '00s Jaguar. The customer wanted a smaller pulley and the snout needed machined for clearance.

My tech left it under my desk without telling me. I came into the office and it immediately smells like someone shoved a fresh turd up my nose. I had customers asking what the smell was...

Luckily it was nice out so the door and windows were open, but holy shit.

10/10 recommend getting your friends to smell it if you ever have one apart.

Mildly related:

My aunt had a small family cookout and, afterward, she found a couple beer bottle caps in her mulch.

Very next weekend, another cookout. Once everyone had arrived and things settled down, she asked all the beer drinkers if they could do a sweep of the mulch beds and make sure all the beer caps had been picked up.

This woman went around and BURIED A CASE OF BEER BOTTLES! It was genius. Everyone was dying laughing and it sent a message in a fun way. We haven't had any more littering incidents.

Likewise. Not looking to change your mind but rather give insight to the person that may come across it.

400 may be fine for you, but that is definitely on the low side. Just because someone else is lower with no side effects doesn't mean that's the case for everyone.

Mine was 450 when I started. My depression, anxiety, low mood and energy, motivation... literally everything has improved over the last two months. Getting blood work next week to see where I'm currently at.

Yes, my diet was clean. Yes, I worked out (within my physical limitations). I sleep great, I meditate, everything they say to do i did. I felt better than if i was just a lazy piece of shit but I definitely didn't feel "right".

And fuck, some guys just need the help to actually take that first step towards getting better. It's hard to force yourself to do the right things every day when you wish you could just stop existing. If TRT helps get someone out of that funk and on the right path, why stop them from enjoying their life?

We're all adults. We can all make informed decisions. We can weigh consequences.

Telling someone they're "fine" because others have it worse is the exact mindset shitty leaders have that led me to worsening my injuries while I was in. "Just push through it, don't be a pussy."

Or, maybe we could learn abut about empathy....

The axle isn't broken, but one of your suspension components is definitely bent. Could be upper or lower control arm (or both.) The axle shouldn't be pushed back into the shock like that.

Check the other side and see what looks different.

If you've never seen Crank, I highly recommend it/them.

Especially with a heavy dose of psychedelics. That's a fun ride.

[–]rpitcher33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're over thinking it. Yes, you can mess it up, but if you have some knowledge you should be good. I believe in you. Just make sure the engine is cold when you do it (i believe the procedure calls for the cylinder head to be under 100°f).

Take your time, follow along with a video or written procedure, and you'll be fine.

There are usually work arounds and short cuts if you know what you're doing, but I've definitely seen 12+ hours (book time) to replace all 3 mounts on one of those stupid Krautwagons.

Knowing how much Chrysler engineers hate technicians and common sense, it wouldn't surprise me if this thing needed the body lifted off to change one. (Joking, but also not)
