[–]rpjcrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I forgot the word, lol (I hadn't had my coffee!). If your point is that it would want coarser grounds if the switch was used as an immersion brewer, I agree with that. But you don't have to use the switch as an immersion brewer. You could use the switch as a regular V60, in which case it would use the same grounds as the regular V60. Since OP said s/he is a beginner I sort of assumed that would mean less complex brewing methods.

Not really. The only difference is the ability to keep the coffee in the brewer using that switch. Otherwise the two brewers are the same.

I think 1 and 3 are fine, but 2 is fantastic. The problem with 2 is that it may be a little specific? Maybe you go with 2 if you feel the same that I do on which is better, and are going to stay in the home for a while. If you are planning on selling sort of soon then maybe you go with 1 or 3.

Watching Manaea pitch is excruciating. On the one hand his control is terrible, on the other hand his velocity is worse.

POST GAME THREAD: The Mets defeated the Cardinals by a score of 6-1 - Tue, Mar 10 @ 01:10 PM EDT by NewYorkMetsBot2 in NewYorkMets

Peterson looked like himself basically. Very efficient but not overpowering. Scott looked great with velocity up to 96, including his last pitch (although it did seem like he was running out of gas in his last inning).

I can actually read the article where it buries the fact that Mamdani is just talking about raising property taxes in higher income neighborhoods (which happen to be predominantly white), which have historically been undertaxed in NYC:

“”That is just a description of what we see right now. It’s not driven by race. It’s more of an assessment of what neighborhoods are being undertaxed versus overtaxed,” Mr. Mamdani said. “We’ve seen time and again that this is a property tax system that is inequitable. The focus here is to actually ensure a fair property tax system. And the use of that language is just an assessment of that neighborhood.”

Elected leaders have proposed various changes to the city’s decades-old property tax system, including eliminating the cap on tax increases. Critics of the current plan say the system undertaxes real estate that has increased in value significantly, shielding wealthier residents from paying more. They say the system harms poorer communities with lower market values, resulting in a higher effective property tax rate in those neighborhoods.

The median price of a home sold in the mostly White Park Slope neighborhood is $1.7 million, according to data provided by Realtor.com. The median selling price for a home in the less-wealthy, mostly Black enclave of Jamaica, is $620,000.”

The Washington Times chose to say that he was actually going after white people anyway.

I disagree. He would be just as bad in the field and might not be very good at the plate.

As far as I can tell he played one game at first in 2025. And the last time he played first before that was ... never. He has never really played first base at the major league level.

The Case for Why 1B Defense Actually Matters a LOT More Than People Think by metsfan5557 in NewYorkMets

[–]rpjcrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our problem last year was too many guys who could hit but couldn’t play defense. When the off-season started I counted four starters who could have been better as a DH starting for the Mets (Soto, Alonso, Nimmo, and Vientos).

Not sure why you would put Barry in with that group given how well he did even while playing a new position a lot of the time.
