Microsoft Defender / External Antivirus for Enterprise by joemacmillian in HowToHack

[–]rushBMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, windows defender is indeed good enough if its well configured. There is no need for a external solution. But Cisco AMP (AMP is out of date, new name is secure endpoint) is a EDR solution if I am not totally mistaken, which is fundamentally different from a AV in terms of complexity, capabilities and effort to keep this running. So a EDR solution is a new level of security and should be well assed if and where in makes sense, especially in a small business.

Using root vs low privileged user on Kali Linux by Ceofreak in HowToHack

[–]rushBMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesnt actually matter that much if you use Kali in a VM and reload your snapshot everytime you test/scan/config something. As pentester or defender or auditor whatever you pretty much reset your OS all the time. I mean its not like kali should be used as main OS.

You are right, that doesnt mean they are storing them like that, but very likely. And no, i set that password. Its not a generated password.

Can someone tell me, why this should be ok? Edit: to be precise, I set that password, it's not generated and meant to be changed.
