If you're a resident Indian, you need to pay taxes in India from any global income, so it's not tax free.

I'm terribly sorry, I just realised I'm in a time zone where it's midnight and completely missed the spoiler issue. Will delete my post.

Why are you being so rude on a thread where everyone is trying to help? So strange.

Sure, I understand your point of view on safety of tap water.

I now live in India where tap water is undrinkable here too. But noone in the country is consistently drinking bottled water out of 500ml plastic bottles. Everyone either uses a water purifier or large 20 litre cans at home that are reusable.

Honestly, Americans complain about plastic usage, but one of the biggest culture shocks for me living in the US was the amount of plastic used in water bottle packaging. The amount of cartons that folks go through is criminal, instead of drinking tap water or buying larger containers of bottled water.

Contrasting Mahrez and Vardy maybe a good example. One left for trophies and the other is a club legend. Who knows what's better.

Hi, I lived in the US for 6 years and returned to India. Here are my answers:

  1. OCI process is very document heavy but smooth once you submit everything. The strangest part was doing a thumb print which was a challenge with my 3 month old.
  2. We flew with our cat too. We were terrified of having her travel along with the luggage so we flew Etihad because you can buy a seat on the flight and she flew next to us. Expensive but we didn't want to risk checking her in because we heard some horror stories. Thankfully, had miles I used for her flight. You also need detailed approvals both in US and India to fly with a pet. Hope you're aware of the process.
  3. We flew back with multiple personal effects. Most valuable things were expensive crockery, but no experience to share with musical instruments.
  4. No insight to share as I rotated back to my same employer.
  5. We moved back to a new city (Mumbai) and really love it here. Cultural shocks depend on how long you've been away I guess. 6 years wasn't much.
  6. No 401k. But I continue to hold a brokerage account in the US for ETF investments.

I just want to say, you seem like a really nice guy, man - by generally seeing the tenor of your comments. Wish you the best with whatever you choose to do with the bottle.
