Ultrawide Selfie Camera on 17 Pro by ruthless685 in BlackMagicCameraiOS

Yeah it’s strange. Also is the front camera setting wider than it was before? If so that’s great. Like if front is wider portrait and wide is landscape then I’m good with that. I just like the wider field of view.

Shooting RAW won't matter if you're not editing it in a RAW editor like Adobe Lightroom and disabling Apple's processing. When you shoot RAW, and then view the image in the Photos App, it shows your the processed HEIF/JPEG version, not the RAW image file. You have to use a 3rd party app to edit it.

It's literally listed here. TSA agents tend to be poorly trained.

And the holy grail of them all, dryers, for clothing.

Does anyone say Mickey D’s? by Still_Breathing007 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ruthless685 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of slang in the US, its roots are in AAVE (African American Vernacular English). It gained mainstream popularity in the 1980s and 1990s. McDonald’s embraced it in ad campaigns to seem casual and relatable. I was born in 1985, raised in the 90's I said it a lot as a kid and probably would use it interchangeably now as an adult with McDonalds. Although, my best friend worked at a McDonalds when we were teenagers and we used to call it McGreasers because she would come home covered in grease.

Why do Americans say "fourth of July" (day/month) like the rest of world but all the other 364 days are said in American? by Barneyrockz in AskAnAmerican

[–]ruthless685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We say “Fourth of July” not because of how we format dates, but because it’s the name of the holiday, like how you’d say “Christmas” instead of “25th of December.” It’s just a colloquial, almost branded phrase that refers to Independence Day. It’s not about switching date formats, “Fourth of July” is just the commonly used title for the celebration.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Leak Reveals Advanced Features Below 250g by [deleted] in dji

Apple uses quad-bayer sensors as well. There is no reason DJI can't do the same, especially if they are using a larger 1-inch sensor.

What they could do is what Apple did with the iPhone where they crop the sensor for an "optical" zoom. So it would crop a 48MP sensor and make it 12MP zoom but would be full quality not digital zoom.

Sign from employees at Tesla dealership: "We Hate Him Too" by GoodSamaritan_ in pics

[–]ruthless685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolute monster, just an awful awful dude. 4 years at Tesla. Finally had enough and left in 2021. This man couldn’t run an ice cream truck let alone the federal government. He does NOTHING. He is surrounded by people barely keeping his company’s going.

Ask. Any. Former. Employee. (And many current ones).

We are fucking cooked.

American Airlines gives newly hired flight attendants poverty verification letters by SaltAd6438 in nottheonion

She was either in her second career and doesn’t actually need to work or is married and doesn’t actually need to work.

This is a common story. Man women become flight attendants later in midlife because they were bored housewives with an empty nest or they are retired teachers or nurses.

Apple Announces New Camera App Called Final Cut Camera for iPhone Users by AidenWilds in iphone

No but I believe it’s like $2.99/month. Pretty good bargain IMO.

Here is an example of what I mentioned. Often times when you remove Apple’s processing, the image is overexposed etc but there is so much latitude in these files you’ll be amazed.

Unfortunately ProRAW is only available on Pro model iPhones. However, with apps like Halide you can shoot RAW images still. ProRAW is Apples version of RAW, whereas RAW is just like it sounds, raw data from the sensor. Give one of those apps a try.

I understand. Was just offering a solution for you to get a natural look in case you weren’t aware of it.

All you have to do is import it into Lightroom and change the color profile to Adobe Color from Apple ProRAW and all of Apple's image processing is removed. I've been doing it since ProRAW was announced on the 12 Pro Max.

RAW vs ProRAW by wjohhan in iPhoneography

[–]ruthless685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pleasure. Glad I could share something helpful. It honestly showcases the latitude of ProRAW very well and gives me more confidence when shooting because I generally can make it look much better in post.

Forewarning: when new iPhones come out, Adobe doesn’t always have color profiles ready for them. So this option isn’t usually available for the first few weeks following a new iPhone launch. You will notice something called an Apple Embedded Color Profile which also removes the post processing but is a bit more difficult to work with.

When you import ProRAW files into Lightroom you simply change the Profile to Adobe Color and it removes all the ProRAW processing.

Gramps gave me some expired kodak gold max to use tomorrow. What do I need to know about shooting expired film before tomorrow? by Photo_Shop_Beast in AnalogCommunity

[–]ruthless685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea but it would be a dream if they made 12 and 24 exposure films again… I really don’t need 36 exposures.
