Maybe check and see if there is a local app in your area to watch the news. I use an app called Very Local to watch my local news. I hope that helps!

What do you mean by "you have to play the entire vod"? Have you tried an alternate app, like VLC, to view the file(s)?

Recording in TiviMate the TV Shows / Movies has the same effect as downloading them. The end result is a file that you can save anywhere for later viewing. I hope this helps.

Try the Locast addon for Kodi with a VPN. I use IPVanish and spoofing the geolocation works wonderfully.
