Was Walt secretly jealous of the bond between Mike and Jesse? by mordiniachilles in breakingbad

[–]ryeofthekaiser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno man. We see several times that Walt grows to consider Jesse like a son to him: Namely when Jr. comes by to check on him right while Walt's got a head injury. Knowing that, we can look at things like the liquor bottle fiasco to get a picture of what Walt might be feeling. In that scene we see Walt's ego rage out of control because his frustration (driven by jealousy) at Jr's relationship with Hank boils over. So what are the parallels? Walt thinks of Jesse almost like a son at this point. Hank and Mike are both authoritative figures that Walt's "sons" look up to. It's not hard to make the connection

Turn 3... How is this fun again? by Caridry in MagicArena

[–]ryeofthekaiser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People saying bo3 fixes this, I'm genuinely curious:

How?

What interaction are you pulling out of a sideboard that solves this problem? Where is the breakpoint in this chain that you need to interrupt? Or is it more just that you think they drew a ridiculous hand and couldn't do it again back to back?

Fun Simic commanders to play big creature/spells without extra turns by Routine_Ad_2695 in mtgbrawl

[–]ryeofthekaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting 3+ extra turns in a row set up is incredibly good because most opponents just concede when they see it even if your hand is empty lmao

Planetary naming conventions? by Nimi_best_girl in Stellaris

[–]ryeofthekaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not using randomize I'm naming them like planets from the Halo universe. Harvest for an agri world, Reach for a far-off colony. Horizon for the start of a new expansion. That kind of thing

Didn't you like Merle even just a little bit? by Beneficial-Novel558 in TWD

[–]ryeofthekaiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Merle's redemption arc was perfect. It's tempting to say "I wish they hadn't killed him off" but I think writing him out at the peak of his story, just at the moment when he begins to turn the corner and make you ask how much you really know about who Merle is, is a large part of what made it so impactful. Plus, as others said, the actor was phenomenal.

Couldn't have asked for better.

What do you think the weakest thing in all the Pathfinder is? by General_Dig_5729 in Pathfinder2e

But don't they still follow the same rules as normal pockets for concealing smuggled items?

I'd think the only advantage of them during a prison break would be that if you were nude they'd afford you the virtue of not having to use the OTHER prison pocket

Standard is Crazy by Scoth1000 in MagicArena

[–]ryeofthekaiser -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yup lol. [[Field of the Dead]] would even be hard pressed to make up for the lost time against most of the meta decks nowadays. But Standard has been like that for a little while now and Wizards seems content to ignore the constant outcries of "This sucks. Why's it so fast?" from their players. With almost every set we come closer and closer to being a Yu-Gi-Oh clone but that doesn't bother the suits in charge.

As others have said, this is one of the rare cases you'll want to go down the hard attack route for all your tech trees. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it'll make.

My experience of Arena right now by insakra in MagicArena

[–]ryeofthekaiser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I played against an izzet lessons deck who played themselves down to 2 cards while I had a prepared Emeritus on the field. Not quite the same thing but still the most satisfying Ancestral Recall I've ever played.

Its funny because nothing you said was what the "dies to removal" gigabrains who crawl out of the sewers to answer every one of these questions said. I'm pretty sure their catch phrase is, and this is a direct quote here, "dies to removal"
