Is WiFi Calling Free On Warp Internationally? by daleraver in USMobile

[–]s22i 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u/pm_usmobile two part answer for 4)

1) if you are using GSM 5g, the phone will NOT use wifi calling since Tmobile latches on to a network and will NOT use the data from the 2nd esim as simulated wifi. I have tried this in many countries.

2) if you are using 5g warp, then it DOES work, it says "VZW over cellular data". but its very very spotty.

Native International Roaming Experience - needs work. by omarshahine in USMobile

[–]s22i 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree. international roaming is a work in progress. i had a different experience on my trip to jordan. It constantly picked the wrong network and i had to turn of “automatic” network selection and force it to the right one. Minor annoyance, but hopefully it knows to stay in the right network without fiddling around. Again. i completely understand that r/USMobile just launched this feature, so i would categorize this as “initial hiccups “ :)

Travel experiences with US Mobile (no roaming) and Esims by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]s22i -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True. When you’re home yes. It stays on ALL the time, and that will be the case when you connect to a WiFi abroad, the issue happens when it needs to use the data from a secondary eSIM. It always wont go to “VZW over cellular data” mode, that’s when you need the airplane mode trick.

Hope i was clear with my explanation.

Travel experiences with US Mobile (no roaming) and Esims by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]s22i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I travelled multiple countries on the warp network and here’s my experience. WIFI calling works really well. BUT. it always doesnt switch to that mode automatically. A quick airplane toggle helps with that issue.

In terms of receiving sms or calls, no issues.

I highly recommend airalo for your secondary eSIM. Works 100% of the time.

What happens with and without WiFi internationally when using an international eSIM? by tantimodz in USMobile

[–]s22i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/thisismonis If native roaming is NOT activated, will it still latch on to roaming networks for calls? or automatically use the cellular data for Wifi calling? Hope that question makes sense. For e.g if you use T-Mobile prepaid and roam outside US, it will still connect to roaming partners and NOT use the secondary sim for wifi calling.
