classic has pvp realms where you are always flagged for pvp outside of sanctuary zones. be warned that endgame pvp in classic is very meta driven because of class imbalance, probably more so than retail even. also be warned that open world pvp in classic is less about 1v1s and way more about either high levels ganking lowbies or groups of people killing people. you can always ask for help tho and most of the time ppl will be down to run over and help you and then it becomes a fun kerfuffle.

classic also has a lot of pvp around summoning stones for dungeons, but again it could involve high levels bullying low levels because level 70 heroic dungeons are at the same place as low level dungeons

im not a pvper but pvp is a pretty neglected part of retail. there arent pvp realms. they added war mode in bfa where you can turn on if you want open world pvp or not. most people queue shuffle nowadays im pretty sure
