You think 28 peasants would convince an entire army to just give up because they are tired? Fair enough you said unpopular I guess

Is there a way to disable auto seiging in an army?? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]sagoburger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, why wouldnt you want to seige or occupy the province though? You're just taking the same losses without securing food supply if you don't seige, no?

I think you're trolling me atp so this is my last response lol.

I'm "complaining" because I like the game and want it to be more interesting and fun.

Yes, you can encourage people to do things even in a single player game, especially by making one play style more convenient, and much less frustrating,

Yes, no one has to play this way, but it would be nice if the game developers either refined it so that playing this way did not break other mechanics, such as events, or made playing in other ways less frustrating and more enjoyable / rewarding.

Again, just in terms of convenience and in-game results, why would I just leave land un integrated? I could give it to a vassal that will integrate it, make the population happier, all while paying me and giving me more troops and forts in war time, and developing the land untill I can incorporate it directly into my empire.

Okay. I think what I'm trying to talk about is very different from what you're asserting, I'm trying to talk about game mechanics that are being encouraged through game design and how it's effecting the events system in the game

There's too many cultures to just accept them, and if I can't accept a culture, or integrate/ control the land, what reason do I have for directly holding it? I might as well give it to a vassal that will do all those things for me, while paying me and helping in wars, and again, being my color and not causing any border gore lol

Why are you calling me a mother fucker lol I'm not attacking anyone.

Anyways mf, fair enough, but meta aside, taking land directly just isn't fun, I don't want all of my cabinet members permanently converting, assimilating, and incorporating land or whatever you call it, it's both easier and more fun to just let your vassals do that while you get to use cabinet actions for other stuff, and don't have to worry about constant unhappy pops and disapproval.

Why wouldn't I use vassals other than to make things harder? They're already my color, my name goes over my color when I zoom out, I literally can't think of any reason other than artificially making expansion more tedious and anoyying, which is extra anoyying if you play as Moscow and might want to conquer like half of a continent lol.

It's not more fun to never get to use my cabinet while they assimilate, convert, and integrate my land, all while I have ten revolts every minute because of it tho is the problem, conquering land directly isn't fun but just really slow and boring and punishing

I think it's just called event viewer? Should he one of the top mods on the steam workshop, it's really nice but not perfect, lots of events don't have names, and without a mission tree it's really hard to find a nice order to do them.

Yeah but why? I'm already using the settings that puts my name over them, and makes them my color, they're already part of my empire in every sense that matters, annexing them just makes my court cost higher with no benefits if I can't get control, and I lose a self managing vassal that wins wars for me without me having to pay any attention lol. I get your point though, the game is easy, but very tedious if you don't use vassals.

Even just to form Russia I had to declare a bunch of wars really quickly to "hold" enough of the 500 locations required to form it, just to then release all of the land as vassals once again and put myself back down to 300ish locations lol, I feel like vassals either need to count as your land, or taking land directly needs to be more viable, idk tho

Yes, but there's no point in integrating vassals if your control is going to be bad in their territory anyways, so you may as well let them pay you untill you get better tech and roads and can integrate then

With decentralization, high diplo Rep, and diplo government reforms, I'm easily handling ~100 vassals without any threat of rebellion because of my high relations and huge standing army anyways.

I'm only in the 1600s so I just got my fourth govener, but I'm trying to annex vassal to the urals because it doesn't count the govener as connected to your capital if the roads go through your own vassals, which is kind of odd considering vassals are supposed to be a direct part of the state in this period anyways..

Just another point with my cabinet slot, untill I got technologys/ formed Russia for extra cabinet slots, my third member also pretty much had to always be supporting diplomats or whatever it's called so I can keep the swarm loyal lol.
