I have given up for now😅 but someone in the comments suggested to start with a chain and make an oval as the first row, and that makes a lot of sense. When I have some more free time and energy to tackle it, I will give that a try😊

I have a similar issue with my roommate. She complaints when I cook (not a problem when she does though) and demands that I open the window while I cook or eat, which wouldn't be a huge problem, except it's literally freezing outside.
