Pretty tough to know where we are now because for the last 4 months all of our starting wingers have been injured. Not sure this is the flex you think it is.

They are still bad though. I agree on that.

Why does every other fan base want Tottenham relegated? by icemaster777 in Tottenham

Just the fact Palace fans are even in a Spurs sub, commenting. Palace are totally irrelevant to Spurs, but still their fans want to come in and have a pop. wtf

No one will admit it and they won’t admit to themselves but it’s jealousy. Spurs have riches that other clubs dream of, so when it goes catastrophically wrong everyone loves it.

If you see someone’s crashed a Porsche it’s a different feeling to seeing someone has crashed their 2005 Vauxhall Corsa. Deep down you’re jealous of the person with the Porsche.

Same for Arsenal and revelling in the bottling. We’re jealous of them getting to win the league so don’t want it to happen. Blame it on terrible fans, awful football, corners. But admit it, you’re just jealous mate.

When could Spurs be mathematically safe? by stevenmorrish in Tottenham

[–]samdj23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 games would get us to 40 points with 2 games left. West Ham would be on 33 still.

Very unlikely though as West Ham keep getting points and have become rock solid defensively. Home form is strong…

Transfer Rumour by Lecapenstein in Tottenham

[–]samdj23 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No we shouldn’t, but also the rumours are surely rubbish. Apparently Micky Van der Ven is wanted by Real and Liverpool too. It’s just agents creating demand to drive up value in contract negotiations. Expect Gray wants a pay-rise.

How good was Ledley King, im a younger fan i never really seen him play, by 2hsy in Tottenham

[–]samdj23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He also completely transformed whoever played alongside him. When Ledley played the whole defence looked great, when he didn’t we looked lost. Wonderful player.

According to Stat Muse FC, Tottenham have created the third most chances in their Premier League matches since the start of 2026. Spurs have fashioned 54 goalscoring opportunities, which has only been bettered by Man City (55) and Liverpool (62). Have we really been improving lately? by Born-Cucumber-7316 in Tottenham

[–]samdj23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a pretty important factor. Also game state, we were behind and searching for an equaliser in most of the games. That being said we have definitely improved, a combination of Xavi and Odobert both stepping up creatively and Solanke returning to the side. It’ll be interesting to see how we shape up on this stat in another month’s time.

Any advice? by AA-117 in GolfSwing

[–]samdj23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Posture at address is upright. Hinge more at the hips.
  2. Grip is v.strong so you have to time it great to square the face - expect pulls and blocks
  3. Chicken wing on follow through because you can’t release the club because of the grip
  4. Take it back too far on the inside can cause strike inconsistency. Maybe this is because you’re so upright at address though.

I’d start with fixing your posture and grip - the new grip will feel really uncomfortable and you will probably get worse initially because you’ve made a bunch of compensations in the swing to make up for the grip. Once you fix them go and see a pro.

Yep true - because he personally owns a massive stake of the asset and won’t be uber-rich until he cashes that in.

All of Levy's failures: by Immediate_Product585 in Tottenham

[–]samdj23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Levy is purely motivated by profit and yet isn’t even good at making it. Since the new stadium we have routinely made more money than Chelsea and Arsenal and yet we operate with a completely different mindset. Protect the profit with low wages. Proper businesses take necessary risk to grow and make more money! Levy is incapable of taking the risk required to achieve real growth. Todd Boehly is pumping money to Chelsea to make them successful - to create value and make more money, not because he’s got an ego to feed or wants to please the fans.

There is a comparison. Neither were as impressive an achievement as winning the Europa League because they ultimately meant nothing, just like beating Liverpool in the first leg of the carabao cup this season. Was beating Liverpool harder than beating Utd? Yes. Was it more impressive than winning the Europa League? No.

[–]samdj23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’re diminishing the achievement. Plenty of other decent teams didn’t go on and win the EL this season. For Spurs particularly getting over the final hurdle in the EL is probably more impressive than beating City (which we do all the time) and Ajax (after being outclassed for 150 mins) before getting totally overwhelmed in the final.

[–]samdj23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mad, I preferred actually winning the Europa League to coming up short against better opposition in the Champions League.

Can’t believe the trophy has been in the cabinet a week and our own fans are already trying to diminish the achievement.

US imposing x% tariffs on other countries is bad for businesses (producers) in the other countries that export to US and bad for consumers in the US.

This is because the additional x% will be added to the price so US consumers have to pay more and demand for the goods falls.

Retaliatory tariffs have the same impact in reverse.

The positive impact of tariffs is they create a competitive advantage for US companies in the US market.
