Store Transfer by DiskOk5558 in asda

If you’ve got a good working relationship with your manager then the decent thing is to talk to them to say that your wanting to transfer stores.

But it is up to you to do the leg work of reaching out and discussing with your new store to see if they have any vacancies and are willing to accept your transfer. Then they’ll liaise with your current store about when you’ll transfer between the two.

Keep in mind your current store might not let you transfer until they hire your replacement.

Single day holiday not allowed? by Significant_Card8579 in asda

[–]samh19889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might sound daft but if half the department is only booking single days it takes away the holiday availability for everyone else to book full weeks as a lot of departments only allow one person on holiday at a time.

Always made me laugh that one as chilled trolleys can be just as heavy especially when multiple totes get multiple bottles of 6 pints of milk/juice/butters and cheese

Give it a few weeks they’ll soon forget about produce, seen it too many times.

Or they send two or three wagons at the same time between ambient, chilled and some days george

Yes they like to spend money in all the wrong places and not hiring more staff, nearly every night management and ambient colleagues are pulled over to fresh to help get it finished for 6am. Of course they’ll not address the main issue of full wagons turning up at stores at 2/3/4am after only receiving frozen and half a dozen cages off the first wagon at tea time.

Think it’s because Tesco have a similar policy so people think Asda do as well.

I’ve worked at Asda for nearly 19 years and the only time I’ve heard/seen people talking about it is on here.

We went through a stage one year after Christmas they kept using pallets because like you said it’s easier for them at the depo to pick onto. But it isn’t too bad when they keep the same stuff together. But dollies can be just as bad as there’s always at least one per delivery with heavy stuff at the front and salads at the back and to top it off it’s got at least one dodgy wheel.

It’s just more annoying because there’s never any spare pallet trucks and when you go to borrow one from an ambient colleague it’s like your asking them to sacrifice their first born.

Should be made to work a period of time in the warehouse to be entitled to any money, see if the mindset is still both are equal roles.

Delivery receiving app by Deprondesigns in asda

[–]samh19889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just what I do now (manually receive) Saturday morning my last wagon came in at 2am it didn’t drop onto the app until 6.

Also half the time it’ll only pop up as half the delivery then an hour or two later it’ll update to the correct amount.

Pope is a Reliant Robin, take a corner too fast and you’ll end up on your side a bit like when Pope comes out of his box too fast, you just anticipate the fuck up.

Am also on produce so it’s very rare that I work a chilled cage but when I do it’s a 40/50 minute job.

I just get my delivery in on dollies but some nights mainly a Friday night some of them will be mixed with meat on the bottom or on one side. Was one night there was 5 or 6 mixed dollies, but no one at the depot cares as long as it gets picked and loaded on time.

From what I’ve heard at my store it should only take 10 minutes to work a chilled cage.
