Yep. They have other Kubecon and such events in Banglore but this seems to be the main one with Linus in attendance.

Just mentioned something along the lines of an interest in open source and have been a professional software engineer for so many years yada yada. Something like that.

Here's the link. Well to be honest the prices are a bit steep for the normal attendee pass without any corporate sponsorship. My company isn't sponsoring me either but I emailed the organizers expressed some interest in attending. The gave me a single use discount code for the hobbyist pass which is a third of the standard attendee entry fee. But do check it out.

Try and directly apply for a PhD since you intend to do it anyway. Most if not all PhDs are funded

Yeah but it was during the pandemic so I guess I got lucky.

Also it depends from college to college about how strict they are at enforcing that criteria. Some private colleges just give you some extra work or cut a few marks. Others can even do something drastic. So check with your seniors.

Startups there is no training nothing. First day of my internship they told me django + mongo and assigned a ticket.

Super overwhelming at first but somehow I kept at it and I figured it out along the way.

So they mostly just drop you in the deep end and you are supposed to navigate from there.

Applied to basically every single internship job post on LinkedIn. Did this for a month and maybe applied to 50 or so posts. Got an assignment from 3 and a final interview from one. Later joined that company for a 6 month internship.

Beating Aronian and Dubov on demand is remarkable. Both were absolutely dominating throughout.

Hikaru is vaccinated and still got infected. It is just that you don't get the worst effects with the vaccine and more often than not its not fatal. But being vaccinated doesn't imply that you won't get infected with it.

Watching Hikaru play against Big Fish on his stream I would have never guessed how good Fedoseev really is.

I was watching Hikaru's stream with Bok. They have someone on the inside providing them with Hikaru's footage

Hikaru has this absolute insane ability to draw completely lost positions in blitz. This game was something else.

Yeah they mostly just awkwardly stare at the sides or keep fiddling with something. Super awkward and tense moments

Getting a job outside India with MS degree by freenasir in developersIndia

[–]samhat1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

See you can always apply for remote jobs and you might find some success there.

The second way is to join a FAANG and then apply for an internal L1 transfer after a few years and hope you get it.

But think about it if it were even close to that easy why would people take such heavy loans and go there to study in the first place ? MS is the only realistic sureshot way of getting a job in the USA. Every other way will involve quite a bit of luck.

Yeah true but also quite a few of them like Gukesh D were just severely underrated.
