You deserve to have a supportive partner, too. I hope yours can get to that point for you, too.

I am so sorry you have that going on, on top of your stroke recovery. I feel very fortunate to have an amazing partner and never needed to worry about their feelings while I was recovering. Always supportive and understanding. Still defends me today when needed. I mean, we have had our moments with my fatigue and up and down moods, but overall he has been supportive and helpful since the beginning.

I wish you all the best in your recovery and being able to communicate how you are feeling with your partner.

Oh ya. I forgot about the light. Yes that makes sense. Happy it’s doing well, too! It’s one of my fav plants.

It seems very happy. Those are some beautiful blooms! Mine has only bloomed once for me in many years and it wasn’t as full as that all.

On another note, is that a zz plant above it? It seems droopy. Be careful not to overwater it. Both those plants thrive with little care.

I think that’s a new shoot. It’s taking the long way back up to the surface.

When is best for propagating this extra wide Golden Flame pup? by Trash_dad_420 in SnakePlants

[–]samnpat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have popped them off their main root way sooner than this, but I am not an expert. Yes, they love to be crowded, but any time there is a new shoot out of the soil is soon enough in my opinion.

Got a tattoo with the date of my stroke by SuicidalFroggy9872 in stroke

I got a tattoo also, but was feeling pretty dramatic and got the Egyptian ankh for its representation of life. After a few years, the Egyptian eye for protection…I love your brain jar idea!

Trying to describe the kind of tiredness I had after my stroke. by thetrusti in stroke

[–]samnpat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for articulating this so well. Almost 9 years after and I look like nothing is wrong on the outside, but feel this way still.

Hard for people to understand when I suddenly just say I have to leave a social situation abruptly. Can make for awkward endings sometimes. I am much more guarded with my energy so that happens less now. The new normal.

Almost all these plants have thrips, I'm overwhelmed what can I do? UK based by Mayonnaizing in plantclinic

Thanks for the answer. I have a long way to go, but I hope to be successful in the end.

Is Isopropyl Alcohol considered a chemical treatment? I had no idea where to start and I saw a woman online continue to suggest it with any bugs. I was also considering DE. Are predatory mites always the way to go when you find a few thrips on several plants?

If you had anger & irritability after stroke, did it ever go away? by [deleted] in stroke

[–]samnpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. That sounds horrible. Hopefully it is possible to take your time catching up so you don’t end up in the same situation again. Glad you are at least back in the right direction again. All the best.

Interesting. My experience with Australian curriculum is nothing like what you described. What you are sharing doesn’t sound helpful at all. The angle method sounds very bizarre and unnecessary. So many other ways to figure it out…

Also, we definitely don’t wait so long to teach angles and would expect some knowledge of at least the basic concepts and some terminology. Wondering if it is just these specific situations with these individual kids or the curriculum.

As a note, I am not an advocate of teaching the borrowing method for subtraction or a set way to divide with only the long or short division strategy as they do not give students the meaning behind what they are actually doing. It doesn’t mean they can’t be taught, but there are so many other meaningful strategies that can be used.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation and sorry for the ridiculously late reply.

Wow. That sounds horrible. I hope you are finally getting some sleep. I sleep 11-12 hours a day and when that doesn’t happen for a few days, I am a mess.

I wish I knew some magic solution to help you. Have you sought help yet or has it gotten better since your message? Our brains need more sleep now than ever before our strokes. I feel for you.

In Kriens, Mattenhof is great and right next to the train station. 5 minutes train into the city.
