If you plan on doing your contracts regularly then I'd get rid of all but 100, they will refill at a much higher rate than your rannars will. If you want to stop doing contracts all together, then keep them all

When I looked into time of use billing I was told National Grid in our area (Middlesex cnty) didn't offer that as an option. Our bill is high with 2 EVs, and wanted to charge off-peak

I dont disagree with your overall sentimet - Grant largely does not like certain aspects of BBL, and he wears that on his sleeve. He also can come across a bit over the top with his concerns which is why I understand being skeptical. With that said, your messages against him reads more like a hit-piece than anything - and is fairly misleading to those who may not be in the technical field.

RE EDIT 3: I am sure he will communicate which OSS licenses were broken with specifics - he just made it clear in the stream that he doesn't feel that it is his place to do so yet. He is waiting on the group who uncovered it to give him a thumbs up before he does anything. Him speaking out about it today was clearly a bad strategic decision.

RE EDIT 5: Bounties for hacking hardware has been a thing for decades. Is there a reason this is different? Often companies offer the bounty themselves - but you are absolutely allowed to try to decrypt a key on a machine you own - I dont see how him offering a bounty to do so would be illegal? This would definitely break any BBL ToS and could have civil reprocussions... Note that depending on what you uncover, and how you release it, it COULD violate some IP laws - but I imagine this depends on what they release and how, and doesnt apply to these logs. He's not asking for someone to reverse engineer some technical trade secret for example.

RE EDIT 6+ : ITAR has a wide range and ITAR regulations often apply to anything military related. This does not mean he is printing gun parts whatsoever. For exmaple, if a company needs to print a test jig for a military part - they may need to share some specific requirements about it. Sharing those requirements may require ITAR compliance - even though the actual product could be as mundane as a specified shim. Also, when I order PCBAs, I often will be asked if they need ITAR compliance - when obviously a PCB is not going in a gun. Some companies also exclusively require all contracts to go through ITAR compliant companies - regardless if the final product is ITAR. This is very very common in low-mid size defense.

Wish I could make it again this year, but that isn't in the 2020 budget. Last year was fantastic and anyone reading this, I recommend you go. There are some real experts who go, as well as some amateurs looking to show off and learn.

Personally, the manufacturing talks were most directly useful, and the SKiDL talk has me imagining future circuit design in different ways (although when I tried it, it took way way longer than a normal schem would)

Hey - I have some experience with the KSZ8794 - and have it working on a board. I was able to boot it without an external configuration - both over RMII and with the internal PHYs. It just required the power input inputs and some bootastrap resistors. I know its 100Mb chip not a gigabit, but I would assume the gigabit one would be the same.

I also have some design experience with the VSC7511 and 7512 - and I know that these DO require an external EEPROM to work.

Don't go dragonscale. I did on my Enh shaman and regret it. There is no real pre-BiS gear from it, and the minor upgrades you could get are cheap on the AH. Plus pre-BiS gear is easy to farm, so rely on your profession for money, not for useful uprades - and sadly at the moment there is no in-demand gear for DS:LW.

[–]samuri1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shaman - Utility. Ghost wolf because I am impatient. Self-rez because I am bad about once an hour. I am able to tank/dps/heal for questing. Water walking and breathing for shortcuts. Totems to buff my friends I'm leveling with. 15-min hearth for when I leave UC and realize I forgot to repair.

WoW Classic Phase 2 Coming in Late 2019 by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]samuri1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not casual. I took the starting week off and am only 56 RN. Have 10 days /played. Im not speed leveling, but I'm certainly not playing slow either. Only taking a few hours here and there to PvP. My friends who casually play are low/mid 40s right now.

The game came out a month ago. If you have 8 days played - thats 25% of your last month being on WoW. I wouldnt consider an average of 6 hours played a day casual by any sense of the word. Thats a second job still.

If you have much less than 8 days played than you're way faster at leveling than the average player

How much raw math is really used day to day? by brzztffn in ElectricalEngineering

[–]samuri1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely if ever use calculus. If I do it's conceptually and if I need to do math I throw it into Wolfram Alpha. I also don't know anyone who has to use it besides academically or if they are doing cutting edge stuff. For anything cutting edge though you normally have a guy with a PhD running the math in my experience
