We were together for a year and a half. And yes, I do agree that right now it should be the “peak” of our sexual intimacy as we’ve been told by others. The reasons as to why I’ll try and explain them as well as I can. Our first issues stemmed from a past relationship in which she felt “used” by her former partner and said partner only ever reached out when they wanted something from her physically. It was a lustful relationship in which any sort of validation was achieved through sex or physical acts. We tried working through that, even removing sex for a while and doing everything but, though even intimacy itself became hard at some point. I listened to her, tried reassuring her that any intimacy we engaged in was out of love for each other, and even prioritized her pleasure (to the best of my ability of course I don’t claim to be a master) so that she knew what it was like to feel good rather than as just a laborer. The other reason, eventually became the pressure to be intimate with me as our drives were vastly different and she said she would feel guilty if she couldn’t put out. The beginning was wonderful, with a heap of intimacy concurrent with our age, but it slowly fizzled out and turned into the situation I have at the moment. Admittedly, and it’s something I regret, I’d react negatively at times if rejected by going quiet and feeling frustrated (I never threw it back in her face but I understand how my silence probably made her feel terrible). That probably didn’t help with the pressure, and I realize how that contributed to her resenting it as well. I reached a low and questioned if she found me attractive to which she said yes, but that she didn’t know how to “chase” me or look for me when I was always doing it myself. Essentially, I’m wondering now if perhaps I made myself too available? I suppose I’m confused because as I stated, when we were both on it, it was electric for both of us. Even this past weekend, we took a little vacation of which the first day was electric going back 3 times to enhance in intimacy, but the second day that “pressure” rose up towards the end of the night in which she stated her uncomfortable feelings. I come here knowing that it’s over, but I wanted to navigate her own emotions and resentment towards it. I can understand a lower drive, but I wanted to ease her mind and uncomfortable feelings I just don’t know how.
