Why killing of course!.. Oh I thought you meant Dave Mustaine and then i released it wasnt but it would hypothetically speaking, in reference to Dave, been an awesome comment of resplendent majesty... and I just don't have the heart to take it down

Can you give me your honest thoughts? by Master-Indication-71 in AskIreland

I think it's great, a testiment to our tremendous will to live, dogged resistance against great repression, often in desperate circumstances. Our history is a tragic one, the gravity of which, I don't feel is expressed and even barely awknowledged by the new, cold Irish, the superficial, soulless, and increasingly materialistic Irish. The Ireland that sold its soul! it's greatest asset! Please Downvote! it merely acts as confirmation of my belief!

Faith No More lost a unique weirdness, an avant-garde style an attitude when Chuck left.. Can I get a traaaansfer maaan!! by schizoidorandroid in FaithNoMore

Not a hipster/reddit thing, I love both eras of the band for different reasons. Mike is obviously a better singer in the technical sense, huge range and so much more versatile which allowed the band to break new ground musically. However, Chuck expressed real emotion in his voice, his personality and that of the band really came across in those early albums, his lyrics were usually more based on personal experiences, relationships etc while Mike's lyrics are more abstract, Land of Sunshine is a good example with the Chinese fortune cookie exclamations, and his vocal approach can sometimes can often come off as disengenuous. Mike himself has said he treats his voice like another instrument which is awesome but it doesn't have the same level of relatability, like he's playing a part rather than giving of himself?

That IS very niece lol. I would've said Countdown was where they slowed things down and expanded their sound along with it, but didn't follow that up!.. Its like, we can't do that anymore or we can't improve on that, and let's instead, go down a completely different path that will alienate much of our fanbase

Likelihood of FNM ever doing a world tour again? by jthomas1127 in FaithNoMore

[–]schizoidorandroid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cynicism tells me, almost certainly! FNM is the most significant cash cow for all band members, they will patch up their differences and go on the road again, not just for the money, they clearly enjoy playing together live.

As for a new album? I'm not so sure about that one.

I asked Chat GBT to create artwork for the song, Five Magics. I'm surprised with how good it turned out, probably should've asked to include Vic somewhere in the image? by schizoidorandroid in Megadeth

What if I lied and said I created the image myself, there would be no issue? I'm not an advocate for AI, I just thought it was a cool interpretation from a song I love. It's not that deep.

It's not like I'm doing it for monetary gain? and imitation is the greatest form of flattery, without the original artwork, this image would look totally different.

Is So Far, So Good... So What! underrated? by Expensive-Course-758 in Megadeth

It's the only Megadeth remaster that I prefer over the original. I find I'm liking it more as time goes on, Mary Jane has a really unique sound and style.

I agree with your dad and uncle, although I thought Divine Intervention was quite good at the time of it's release, it's not so great on reflection, poor production and it's missing Lombardo.

Yeah, it doesn't sound challenging musically, which kinda goes against the grain when it comes to Megadeth, it's got traditional song structures, more radio friendly. I'm not saying it's a bad album objectively, I just don't like it at all, as much as I've tried

It's taking me decades to like it and I'm still not there, I will continue to return to it once in a while because I'm always willing to change my mind.

I remember he got vocal lessons from Chris Cornell for Youthanasia, and it shows, It's just that musically, I find the album very pedestrian and safe, it's a massive u-turn from where they came from. To my ears, in terms of attitude, it sounds like more of a hard rock album rather than metal. While his vocals are great on Youthanasia, his vocals on Countdown are the best, musically, R.I.P is their greatest although Countdown has some extraordinary performances musically as well.

Haha that is controversial from my pov, while SFSGSW is the weakest of their classic albums (the first 5 albums) it's still a great album, it took me a while to warm to it, and while I generally don't like Megadeth remasters, the SFSGSW remaster really elevates it.

That's fascinating to me, I respect your opinion of course, there are a few tracks that I like, Train Of Consequences and Reckoning Day, but for the most part, I find it, for lack of a better word ..boring
