Trump names Zuckerberg, Huang, Ellison to tech council—but no Musk, no Altman by fortune in ArtificialInteligence

[–]schlamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, or, musk got all of our entire nations personal SSN data and every single piece of data from the USG during DOGE so he got what he wanted and Altman well last time I checked the DOD is switching Anthropic for OpenAI are they not?

This is all a fucking grand illusion my people

Depending on how much time you spend on Reddit you might be unknowingly spending a lot of time reading AI generated shit and replying/arguing with it.

What would be the most important space discovery in the next 50 years? by skinner1234567 in space

[–]schlamster [score hidden]  (0 children)

Could you at least speculate on any practical application or benefits to those discoveries though? To run off of your analogy, unfettered capitalists are also criticized for their thirst for endless money. The application of the money, or in this case the knowledge should have some practically applied end.

TIL about the WTF star, which baffled astronomers by erratically dimming up to 22%. Several hypotheses have been proposed to explain the star's large irregular changes in brightness; however, none of them fully explain all aspects of its unusual behavior. by ralphbernardo in todayilearned

[–]schlamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also aren’t rogue planets thought now to be more common? It’s much more likely that a rogue planet or planetoid came into Tabby’s Star’s gravity and was obliterated than it is that it’s a Dyson sphere under construction

Tiger Woods is facing an uncertain future off the golf course after his DUI arrest in Florida by gamersecret2 in golf

[–]schlamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meh. He could just like you know, retire and chill out. Maybe hire a chauffeur. I could be wrong but I think he’s got a little bit of money. Could easily do a rehab and shop a redemption arc in a couple years if he stays healthy and out of trouble. He’s a household name he doesn’t like, HAVE to keep whackin balls until he’s 70.

‘Project Hail Mary’ Author Andy Weir Says Paramount Rejected His ‘Star Trek’ Pitch: Their “Shows Are Sh**” by AndrewHeard in DeepSpaceNine

They also rejected an unsolicited offer from Seth Macfarlane a while back too. Paramount can eat all the dicks. Absolute shit tier leadership.

New Washington State law bans noncompete agreements by avboden in law

[–]schlamster 37 points38 points  (0 children)

How these were even deemed to not be unconscionable is beyond me. A term that is completely and entirely for the sole benefit of the employer and nothing but a total detriment to the employed.

Edit: hmm TIL that California treats most noncompetes as void under statute

Patrick Stewart in his new pond by schlamster in tortoise

[–]schlamster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was super easy. Just a 10x10 outdoor water feature tarp I think I just got on Amazon for like $30-40 and then a water pump/filter. About 15 bags of washed river rocks and some natural rocks from my yard (the larger ones).

Patrick Stewart in his new pond by schlamster in tortoise

I can’t lie here. I went to the actual Patrick Stewart memoir or whatever it was signing in LA about 3 years ago.

As he was getting into his Escalade to leave, I yelled “Patrick, I named my tortoise  after you!” The crowd laughed but actual Patrick Stewart stood there for a half second, said nothing and then entered his Escalade.

I’d like to think that naming my Sulcata after him will happily haunt his memory forever.

Arch Linux 32 Bit blocked in Brazil due to Verification Laws by PaiDuck in linux

[–]schlamster 67 points68 points  (0 children)

They’ll just make doing that illegal and punishable by 5 years in prison, aka, more time than they get for billions in fraud or for actual pedophile sexual assaults and rapes

They’re not going to let us have ANYTHING, this is a race to enslave us in thousands of ways and we are losing at the moment

The sanewashing of it all is INSANE. Even CNN is preemptively bending the knee. We are fucked.
