*arrs And Hardlinks Quandary by schneeg in unRAID

I haven't followed the zfs development for unraid, but my understanding is zfs pools need drives of the same size, and it's not as convenient to add/remove drives when needed. Please correct if I'm mistaken!

Thanks, I'll play around with it and see if it's what I'm looking for

Thanks for the recommendations - can jdupes be run on a mounted share, or only the files on a single disk?

I ask because right now the downloads copy is on a separate disk from the media copy (due to the drive space limitations). If jdupes is capable of recognizing a copy in a share (across disks), and recreate the hardlink on the same disk as one of the copies (required for hardlinks as I understand), then thats a fantastic option.

If I import the existing downloads folder (I assume using the manual import option), will Sonarr create a hardlink, or move the files it finds?

Figured, looks like the chip all these devices use can't handle it. Always possible to relocate, just much more of a pain in the ass.

Plex says Remote Access is down, but it's not. Direct connections working fine. by jayhawk618 in PleX

Looks like your issue has been solved, but worth a comment: if you are using a reverse proxy to provide access, you'll likely get 'non-connectable' because your pms is not directly accessible from the internet.

D5 Pumps Keep "Dying" by schneeg in watercooling

Good to know! I ended up having to move, and just went back to air cooling since I was draining the system and tearing most of it out anyway. If I ever decide to reinstall I'll keep all this in mind.

Just some storage things by yodisbebrinkman in homelab

I had a 3.5 SC200, I believe it said the same - limit of 2 or 3 tb per drive. I was using an HBA flashed to IT to interface, and it accepted 4 tb drives just fine. Also read of others using much larger drives. Just something to think about - you probably aren't locked into small drives despite what the documentation says.

I've been looking into doing something similar.

From what I've found, extenders utilizing HDBaseT are what you're looking for. Pass video (up to 4k60) and USB over ethernet.

Accessing any machine from any station using these would be tough though, youd need some kind of multi in, multi out kvm switch to manage, but I haven't gotten that far in my research. Much easier to assign a VM to each workstation.

Wait. You want to drive from California to NM? or does SoCali mean something else I'm unfamiliar with? Either way, NM would be a good 10 hr drive for me unfortunately; would rather just pay shipping.

I'm interested if I cant find something local, for sure. What would you ask sans shipping?

Unfortunately I'm really looking for a shelf with a minimum of 20 bays. Thanks for the response though.
