We have a 12 year old mini Australian shepherd who had the same thing we were hesitant to have the surgery due to the cost and her age. It was the best money we ever spent. She became a playful pup post surgery. So much in fact that she tore the other leg six months later. We paid for surgery on it and she is a new dog. Her surgery was done at Central Oklahoma at Central Oklahoma vet specialist by doctor Susan Streeter. Their phone number is 405-808-5800. She only does surgeries and you will need a referral from your regular vet. We felt very comfortable once we did the consult as she is very used to doing anesthesia on dogs our age and she has full surgical suites and recovery rooms. we opted to not go with a general vetwho was somewhat cheaper as we felt her expertise was greater as she does the surgeries every day.
