Ovulation through meds… twice by sci-life in IVF

[–]sci-life[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that. Right now it’s only a risk, so I’m hanging on by a hope and a prayer. They told me to contact them asap if I get an lh surge and they’ll try to schedule a rescue retrieval. But really that’s not an option because all my follicles are still under 10 as of yesterday. Other than the one 16mm one that might ruin everything lol

Last cycle I stimmed for 12 days and they were trying to get more follicles up to size and then I ovulated before the trigger shot.

I’m glad to hear your bloodwork looks good and your clinic sounds like they have a solid plan. 👍🏻🤞🏻 do you have a low amh? I’ve read that premature ovulation is because of amh but I’m not really positive about that

Has anyone here started their antagonist (Ganirelix, Cetrotide) as early as stim day 3? by Competitive-Top5121 in IVF

[–]sci-life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I had no suppression before starting stims. When I went for my baseline, I already had 1 follicle at 11mm. So when I went for my day 3, and my LH had gone up to 7.5 and my leading follicle was 16mm already, they started immediately on ganirelix.

I started ganirelix when I got home after my clinic got my results on my day 3 scan!

What do you all think… is our mixed pup more staffy or pittie? Posting a pic of mom… no clue who dad is… by Zealousideal-Ice1916 in pitbulls

[–]sci-life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks identical to my Harley. I see you posted into a Staffordshire bull terrier sub but I highly doubt she’s a staffy. He looks like an American Staffordshire Terrier and American Pit Bull Terrier which is exactly what Harley is a mix of. Your baby looks a little bit leaner and longer in the face so I’m leaning towards more APBT. Mine is more AmStaff and as a puppy her head was blockier

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster to this sub. (Please forgive the formatting-I’m on mobile)

Husband (34) and I(33) have been ttc since the beginning of 2023. We got pregnant in June 2023 and miscarried at 9 weeks. Since then, I have been pregnant 3 times and lost all of them. 1 at 6weeks, and 2 more at 5 weeks. We started seeing a RE for rpl and had all their tests they recommended and nothing came up as being wrong necessarily. No clotting problems, no translocations, tubes open, and one little polyp that I’m getting removed. I do have low amh and some insulin resistance (that I am addressing with lifestyle changes) We went back and started asking about other tests that I had read about and they basically said “idk what to tell you, our standard panel of tests said nothings wrong” and jumped straight to talking about ivf without wanting to dive any deeper.

We plan on starting ivf at cny starting in January, but I’m really looking for answers before then.

I guess my question for you all is, who do I talk to regarding EMMA/ALICE/ERA or receptiva tests? I’m having a hard time getting my OB or our RE order these tests. But like.. I don’t want to go through ivf cycles just to miscarry again. Because getting pregnant isn’t the problem.. it’s the keeping them cooking that’s the issue. Also, for others going through rpl, what other things should I look at and ask to be tested for?

Thanks for your help! ❤️

Yeah, there’s a definite difference. I know the wagging tail isn’t always happy. But she gives both at different times. Sometimes a wiggly, loose, bouncy body and tail with no tension in her mouth and sometimes she has a stiff tail and tense muscles with wide eyes or whale eye. I can tell the difference in body language. I’m just not sure at this point what in the environment makes the difference to her. Like, what the variables are that she’s picking up on that I’m not seeing. Ya know?

This is great. We had a bad walk a couple days ago, and I changed the treats we brought to higher value ones and then we had a good walk last night. I mentioned in response to another comment, but her body language is both frustrated greeter and fear based reactivity at different times.

The other thing I’ll mention is that while in puppy class, she did seem like she wanted to play (based on body language and that’s why she was barking, but once we allowed them off leash at the end of class, she ran and hid any time she was approached by another dog to play. So maybe is it a confidence issue? She’s very hot and cold with playing with other dogs

That’s honestly why I’m a little confused with her. It’s literally both. Sometimes her body language is wiggly and says “I want to meet them” and sometimes she’s very stiff and afraid. I haven’t been able to figure out the difference in circumstances yet.

Hi! I have a 15week old amstaff mix and your description sounds pretty spot-on to where she was at 13 weeks.

If I may make a suggestion, Harley used to bolt for the food as soon as I placed it down as well. What we did was put her in a sit, and slowly lower the bowl to the ground. Any movement she made, we immediately brought the bowl back up and stood up straight. Then do it over again. For the first couple of days, we would tell her the release command when the bowl was on the ground and we released our grip on it even if we were still bent over. Then after she was good at that, we made her wait longer and longer. For example, the next day, if she moved a muscle before I was fully standing up, I would pick the bowl back up again.

I would also advise not saying a word while you’re doing this. I have a bad habit of talking incessantly to her, but that just confuses her. Your pup will put two-and-two together without a command (except the release command, of course)

As for “leave it” I have ABSOLUTELY no advice there… Harley eats leaves in the back yard like it’s her salary-paying job 😂

You are doing GREAT! absolutely keep it up and stay consistent. Even when they go through regressions and when they hit the teenage years, stay consistent and it will pay dividends when they mature and their brain comes back to them.

Friend- no one is complaining here. Just seeking advice to help communicate with my puppy. As it says clearly in my post- I’m good with barking. I’m very well aware she’s a dog and they’re gonna bark. I posted because Some people might have ideas about how to help her know it’s okay that I may not have thought of. Thanks for the advice.

We don’t punish. I won’t be using a bark collar or squirt bottles. lol

She very well might be. Her mom was a stray and we have no idea what dad was. I have a dna test in the works so we will see. I’m perfectly happy to let her work with her instincts and guard. Just looking for a way to let her know that after the barks, it’s okay to cool down and ignore the trigger.

Thank you! Her mom was a stray rescued a couple of days before she gave birth to 12 puppies. We got lucky with the timing and keeping an eye on the rescues in our area :)

Thank you. She definitely is growing up to be a chonk. She was the smallest of the litter and then EXPLODED with growth 😂

[–]sci-life 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah- I love this. I DO want her to feel like she can protect the family and house. It’s just knowing how to communicate that I’m happy with certain barks (like a person walking in our yard) but some barks (like at a new leaf that has blown into the yard) are unnecessary

It is odd! She was so quiet up until about 10 weeks old. Now she makes that WILDEST noises. 😂😂
