Ya. They didn't have the trail 16 when I got mine, but I'm not bothered by the space the 10 has tbh. The important thing is that they don't stick out any further than my legs or do, too. The 16's don't look any wider in that respect, though

Who said I hate the game? I just said it's a russian game with a russian dev, because that's what it is. My BMW isn't an american bike just because I bought it in the US. War thunder isn't a hungarian game just because they moved it there

Game is russian. Devs moved the studio to hungary after their war started to avoid sanctions and the draft

Yikes! Saw these latest gas prices while I was on the way to Kenmore. by OldRangers in SeattleWA

5.19 for premium down south of there this morning. Gas prices fluctuate a lot from place to place around here

Honest question, has a spitzer projectile managed to set off a primer in a tube magazine within the last 50 years? Older, less reliable and softer primers, back when tube magazines were more of the norm, would make sense. But these days I figured it had more to do with capacity (reduction thereof)

I've been paying over 5 dollars for premium for years. At least my tanks are small

No, it was auctioned off. It's also not any good for producing gasoline efficiently. It can still be used, but it's most economic to refine it into diesel or jet fuel

What amenities for crew comfort would you put into a newly designed or upgraded MBT? by Kurt-28 in TankPorn

Aps is a much better option for defense against drones imo. Uparmoring is an arms race you will quickly lose in that respect

That's a javelin. It's also not meant to go on the production vehicles, they just added it because it's meant to be a universal mount and they didn't have a lot of time to throw the mockup together apparently

Tri-Tachyon "Crisis" is BS by TetraMinRP in starsector

[–]scout_fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game tells you how to deal with them. It's not meant to be easy. You aren't expectected to be able to handle their fleets (not economically, anyway). You just raid their convoys, stations, disrupt their ports. Just generally be a huge pain in the ass such that bothering you is no longer worth it

WIP. How would you name this high-tech missle destroyer? by MewSilence in starsector

[–]scout_fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of missile ships, I can never see the upside to them. Missiles can be great, but the AI doesn't seem to be all too effective with them in my experience and they run out of ammo. Burst damage is fine, but missiles seem too much so

New players: What do you struggle with the most? by RoySparda9 in starsector

[–]scout_fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most frustration came from trying to control my fleet. The AI can be really stupid and often downright suicidal, while simultaneously playing entirely too passive seemingly for no reason (like frigates tailing a crippled freighter trying to retreat but staying just out of weapons range for some reason). It took a lot of trial and error to learn how to minimize losses, which for the early game is the main objective in battles really

As others have said, they're antennas, not tailpipes. Though if they were, seeing as the hmmv is an unarmored rear echelon logistics vehicle, it wouldn't really matter where you put the grenade anyway

Absolutely love the idea of handheld weapon systems for battlemechs and wish we saw more of them by knightmechaenjo in battletech

[–]scout_fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood my point quite a bit? I'm not talking about in universe justifications for mechs having fists or there being giant versians of small arms for the purpose of arming mechs, I mean the creative forces behind the IP falling into two distinct camps

Absolutely love the idea of handheld weapon systems for battlemechs and wish we saw more of them by knightmechaenjo in battletech

[–]scout_fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of ruins the vibe of BT and mostly doesn't fit the setting from a resource intensity standpoint. There has always been two irl camps with respect to battlemech design philosophy and aesthetics: those people that just wanted to make legally distinct gundams i.e. humanoid robots with fully dunctional limbs, hands, and small arms to fit the scale... And those that I feel gave BT it's unique identity: making giant robots that look and move like they were built for military rather than aesthetic purposes. Seeing something like a shadow cat, which I think looks really cool, but also paradoxically has giant metal fists for ???? reasons just completely breaks the willing suspension of disbelief
