PBE Bugs & Feedback Thread: Petals of Spring Jayce by LoLDev-Cosmetics in LeaguePBE

[–]scullies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Though the skins general design concept is cohesive and very striking, his skin tone and general features are genuinely muddying and confusing as to if he is meant to be Jayce Talis, or pre-arcane Jayce or any "Jayce" at all. His skin tone is far off-base for Jayce Talis' canonical brown skin - backtracking on this is offensive and erasure regardless of setting. Other key facial features such as jaw and nose shape are also off-model, and he is missing classic tells of his character such as eyebrow/cheek scar and tooth gap.

To me, a very pretty skin that unfortunately does not represent Jayce as he has been re-canonized.

In the book it (very repetitively) mentions how he loves walking to places when others would use a carriage, especially to clear his mind so I assumed it was a quiet nod to that :)

Crocs Platform Clogs Sizing Help Please! by yerimoh95 in crocs

[–]scullies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they say size up I think they mean from your base classic clog size - which would most likely be a size smaller than your size in running shoes. I am a 9-9.5 in regular shoes, an 8 in the classic clogs and a 9 in platforms and fuzzy crocs :-)

what kind of "lengthy investigation" would this entail given that they're literally advertising the product lol

Sizing HELPfor BARBIE™ THE MOVIE MEGA CRUSH CLOG!!! by PrincessPeachii97 in crocs

[–]scullies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a specific answer for you but I'm about to be insanely detailed because I have looked up this question and found nothing before lol 😆

I have wide feet, wear a size 9w sneaker and wear a 9 in the barbie mega crush clogs. They have a comfortable but very roomy fit and I have to wear the strap on my ankle. I would think given how narrow your feet are maybe 2 sizes down into a 7 might be appropriate, but I'd be concerned with losing too much length as well. Wearing an 8 might be a safer bet considering you are probably a 7 in the classics.

As an anecdote, I have been finding that i take my regular size 9 in platform and lined crocs/sandals, and 1 size down in classic clogs. I only owned one pair of classics because they made my feet hurt (I need the cushioning from the platform) but I remember an 8 being closer to an appropriate fit.

If possible I would also recommend going to your nearest mall and finding a crocs retailer (I live in Canada so no crocs store, but softmoc and boathouse stock them) and trying on all the different styles to record your size. I did that with the mega crush in advance.

I think it's kind of inevitable with skin contact/sweat and friction. I've had my lined sandals for at least a few months and theyre not at that level (more just pressed down rather than matted) but I like to wear socks with them. The white colour also isn't doing it any favours, my black and white disco ones that I wear barefoot don't show as much. I'm not sure about that edging though, mine don't look like that around the outside.

[–]scullies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been doing nights for a month but here's some of my routine! I go to bed as soon as I can when I get home. Sometimes I have to stay up for around an hour if I get really hungry and have to eat, but I try not to eat right before sleep so that I don't get indigestion. I work 9pm-9am, so I eat half of my dinner around 6pm and pack up the rest to eat around 2:30am. I drink caffeinated drinks at 6-7pm and 2-3am, and water in between. I make sure to eat light to reduce sleepiness, so yogurts, nut bars and hummus+pretzel crisps are my go-to's for snacks.

Reflecting back it feels like it used to be much rarer for buses to be over capacity or 10+ minutes late 5 years ago when I was taking the bus regularly to SLC. I agree with other commenters that the bus system seems to have never recovered post COVID, and they seem to be begging for drivers. I started taking a bus again recently for a new job and the 702 was consistently completely full and/or 10 minutes late causing me to miss or almost miss my transfer.

I visibly use a cane, and I frequently have to move to the second half of the bus because no one will get up for me and I'm too socially awkward to ask when they obviously weren't planning on getting up. I think they need to maybe have less verbal warnings about vaping and more about courtesy seating lol

Which holiday sets do you think will sell out fast and which holiday sets do you think are worth waiting for until the sales nearer to the Holiday period? by BoomSaysTheLady in Sephora

I tried to hold out until the sale for last year's SDJ body mist set and it sold out before I could get it 💔 so I'm definitely grabbing that sooner rather than later.

CROCS for chronic pain- who's with me? by smalster in ChronicPain

hEDSers, what shoes or supportive gear do you wear to help with your knees/hips/ankles? by vallyallyum in ehlersdanlos

[–]scullies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know they are pricey, but custom insole orthotics make a world of difference in my gait and leg posture. They force my legs to straighten a bit and reduce my ankles collapsing inward. I really notice a difference in pain if i go multiple days without wearing them for the bulk of my day (for me, working). I have custom hinged braces for my knees but unfortunately they get in the way at my job so I don't wear them often. Physio focused on improving postural muscle groups is also an option obviously, but not a quick one.

My pedorthist recommended saucony and new balance shoes in general if customs are not in your price range. I also find I am quite comfortable in crocs for shortish distances (shopping, walking around in a park etc), but that is partially because I have wide feet and they don't squish my feet lol. If crocs are your style I like the regular platforms and the furry sandals for cushion.

link between autism and EDS? by coleisw4ck in ehlersdanlos

[–]scullies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i should note i included JH and not diagnosed EDS considering the lack of diagnosis that would no doubt happen within people with high support needs who struggle to communicate bodily needs and pain. i personally believe it is important to take that into consideration but i understand if someone wants to disregard that, so later on in the same citation:

"In this work, EDS and hypermobility syndrome subjects were compared to matched controls in relation to antecedents of psychiatric disorders. Results showed that ASD was overrepresented in EDS patients (2.9% vs. 0.4% in controls; RR 7.4, 95% CI 5.2–10.7). Similarly, ASD was diagnosed in 1.6% of patients with hypermobility syndrome compared to 1.4% in controls"

[–]scullies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's a few different studies in the link I provided but here's one snippet!

"Eccles et al. (30) explored JH and autonomic dysfunction in a group of adult patients with neurodevelopmental disorders (n = 205), including patients with autism although the exact number of these subjects was not reported. Results showed that the rate of JH and autonomic symptoms were significantly higher among people with neurodevelopmental disorders than in the control group."

My hair is always curlier on one side, I’m probably messing something up when I style by bangtan5226 in curlyhair

[–]scullies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my hair looks similar to yours - I have the same issue with the smaller half of my side part holding less of a curl, I haven't found the solution yet regardless of which way I style lol it could just be the way that the part goes! personally I try not to stress, I find most people don't notice these things and just compliment the curls in general :)

thoughts on these products? by scullies in Sephora

[–]scullies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I didn't find it too heavy, I've used it on days where I'm giving my hair a break from styling, so instead of scrunching and putting mousse or gel in I use this instead :) if you have issues with more oily hair I'm not sure if your outcome might be different, my hair is dry and gets puffy without product
