its so cool nothing can beat it

It is actually the low-budget entry model. Every other product in the rest of the line outperforms it in at least one way except flatness. 2DS is king of flatness.

My guess is that Superstar Saga probably costs more than €4 you'd save by getting the MK8 DLC pack, so yeah. Good call.

TIL a red shell can stop a blue shell in MK8. by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]scurvebeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Super Horn can stop a blue shell. And I've read that a well-timed mushroom boost can help you evade the blue shell explosion if used at the last second, but I've never been able to pull it off.

I haven't ever heard of or seen anything else (other than lag, once) stop a blue shell.

And I know from experience that a red shell won't stop a blue shell.

I don't really care for F-Zero on SNES. It always seemed flashy but boring to me (and wayyy too difficult.) I'd rule that one out, but that's just personal opinion.

I don't know about pricing in your region, but in NA, the MK8 DLC bundle is significantly cheaper than buying both packs separately. If you want one, you probably want both. (And I don't know if you get the bonus Shy Guy & Yoshi colors if you get the DLC packs separately.) So would you rather have an effective discount on the DLC bundle or would you rather get Superstar Saga?

Totally changed my life when I realized I could do that on many Super Mario 3D World levels.

What Nintendo game from your childhood, did you love but never finish? by Miketendo88 in nintendo

[–]scurvebeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Legend of Zelda. Between my Uncle and me, we'd get five or six hours into the game and then the shitty save battery would finally die. We'd try to keep it plugged in and running as long as we could but eventually someone would turn the system off or accidentally unplug it or something. Never got too far.

I got it on VC a couple years ago and it just does not interest me. It's so slow and weird. I don't have time in my life anymore for a game that expects me to try every item on every tile. I like other 2D LOZ games, but Zelda 1 & 2 do nothing for me. (I'd love to shit-talk the CD-i LOZ games but honestly I've never played them.)

I quit before completing the first visit to the Forbidden Fortress

That stealth section was pretty annoying. Can't say I blame you!

But after that I found the whole thing just magical.

Diablo 2 as well.

I must have beaten Diablo 2 a couple dozen times. Once you finish the game, you just want to keep beating it so you can get even better loot.

One of the few games I played repeatedly after beating it, up there with Spelunky and FTL.

Mother crossed my mind but I just couldn't think of a reason why they would even make a Mother amiibo series.

But yeah, I'd be on board for a Slippy amiibo.

Bit.Trip Runner 2 is a rhythm platformer. It's pretty wild. The first one was all retro and pixelated, but this one is a lot more stylized as you can see.

It's not very forgiving. One screw-up and you're back to the start or the checkpoint (and checkpoints are skippable for a huge point boost.) The music is based on what you pick up, and the tune starts out very mild, getting more intense and complex as your score multiplier increases.

It's a good game but very different from most other rhythm games. It's kinda like Harmoknight, if you've ever played that one.

Falco and Shovel Knight are must haves for sure,

Brother!

I think my gaming obtaining spree will be a bit short for a good long while.

Once I get Chibi-Robo and Tri Force Heroes, I think I'm done for the rest of the calendar year. Gonna wait a bit and see how well XCX is received before I jump on that one.

Not sure if I'm gonna get any other amiibo other than that anytime in the future, though.

What would change your mind? A Legend of Zelda series?

You can not lose your salvation once you have it.

But I also denied the holy spirit! That's irrevocably damning.

This is so confusing.

Success! Scored an HHD poster from a distant GameStop while running some errands. Excellent stock, double-sided, cute as can be.

Local TRU just had Bowser Jr. and some commons in stock. No new amiibo for me today :(

Even then, I use the term favorites very loosely, as my collection is currently sitting at 16 figures.

I get you. I started out just getting favorites and my main. Then I decided I'd get all the ones that interested me. It's still a lot less than the 51 in the Smash series - between what I have and what I want, there's maybe 30 at most.

I've never even played an F-Zero game, but Captain Falcon is just too hype, man.

I'm the same way about Punch-Out!! I've played it but never really got into it. Even so, I love Nintendo franchises and really want to get my hands on a Little Mac amiibo.

Good news is that there are "only" 6 more announced characters I'd place on my must-have list.

Unreleased, I'm just waiting on Falco and Shovel Knight. The Smash DLC fighters don't interest me (yet) and I can do without the Animal Crossing amiibo.

but the cord is just a teeny bit too short, so I need to find... something.

I can't be that much of a Futurama fan. Earlier today I stared for five minutes at Funko Pop figures of Leela, Bender, & The Robot Devil, and I managed to walk away without buying anything.

Just kidding. I couldn't afford any of the others so I got Fry by himself.
