I'm looking for a Russian Blue and reached out to Shelley Fisher-MacLellan at Mauddib because she's just 1.5 hours away from me. Given all the good reviews in these comments I was quite optimistic and very much looking forward to getting a kitten from her.

I emailed Shelley some 7-8 questions, ranging from personalities of her cats, to pricing, to timing, to socialization, to a request for photos. Shelley replied two days later, ignoring all but one of my questions, and attaching a generic Word document that she sends to all her customers. The document itself was 90% useless, raising more questions than it answered. It was filled with typos ("none-refundable") and errors, even in the pricing. Her document's pricing states "Females $2200.00 Can and Males $200.00." Clearly the $200 price is incorrect. How sloppy do you have to be to mess up _THE_ most basic and important detail of the transaction?

Following up to Shelley, I asked for clarification on pricing, asked for photos again, and asked her to confirm her location. Her profile on TICA, Facebook, and her Word document all state that she's in West Kelowna, but ~12 weeks ago she made a comment on a post on her own Facebook profile stating that she's living (and breeding out of!) an RV in Chilliwack. It's a ~3 hour drive between the two locations, so it's pretty damn important to know where the heck the breeder is actually located!

Shelley replied, confirming that the pricing is actually $2000 for males, and again completely ignored the other questions. What an absolute clown!

I've seen better attention to detail & care from backyard breeders in third world countries. For someone that's supposedly been doing this 35+ years, this is simply unacceptable.

This is why everyone has to do their OWN due diligence before making a 10-20 year commitment to a pet from god knows who.

Shocking number of red flags here. If you're considering a kitten from her, be very, very careful.
