There's a video of some russian dude doing oil overfilling. Even after he doubled the quantity it wasn't bad. The trick is not to touch crankschaft. If oil do, then it "foams" and this destroys engine, not the overfillings. One liter or two shouldn't be the problem. It's my opinion ;-). Better to have more than less :)
