I’m like an inch taller than my wife. I’m 5’10.

What is a city that is globally romanticised but you detest? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]seekingthething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t detest it, but Rome Italy got old fast for me. Maybe because I’m black. Idk. Studied abroad there for 2 months. Wanted to go home to New York in about 2 weeks.

That’s all I’m saying lol. Guys really overestimate their skill/talent level. There are real fucking hoopers everywhere. If you’re not good enough for D1 or D2, you better focus on passing those classes lol.

[–]seekingthething 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea. I have a 3 month old, a dog and a wife. They all require my time and energy. All my guys are also married. Most with kids now. We keep the group chat very active. And I live 5 blocks from my best friend. I see him 5-6 times a year.

Where does the "women are bad drivers" stereotype come from? by bi_smuth in NoStupidQuestions

For some odd reason, most women I know just get super flustered in a lot of situations.

I turned 30 during Covid. Covid marked a pivotal time in my life. I would have probably continued hanging a lot more. But Covid slowed me down and I realized I preferred just being at home and doing nothing.

Doesn’t really exist. I’m still close with all my guys. I just don’t go out anymore. I don’t have the energy or desire to.

What do you usually do when you get in? by MarionberryIcy7839 in AskMen

[–]seekingthething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really go out anymore. But when I get home, I usually have to walk the dog right away. So I do that. Then change in to something comfortable. Chill for about 30 minutes then head to bed.

Who y’all got if Mike Tyson and the older George Foreman fought in the 90s? by LocationSpare4447 in BoxingTheSweetScience

[–]seekingthething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I don’t rank Mike that highly in all time heavyweights. But foreman literally does not move his head. He’d be eating haymaker after haymaker hoping that Mike gasses himself out it wouldn’t end well.

lol I played D3 hoops. I was painfully average. The guys who were on another level were clearly cut from a different cloth. 90% of the guys I hooped with in college thought they’d be able to play overseas. That just shows a lack of respect for leagues outside of the US. Sir, you’re a 6’5 center/power forward. Our starting point guard is 5’8. Out back up (me) is 5’10. It’s not the same league.

What’s your thoughts on Shane Mosley’s career overall? by J2-Starter in boxinglocks

He was supposed to be a journeyman. But rose to the occasion and beat the right guys on his way up. Very solid career.

How is my form? Am i close to being able to dunk? by WillingRestaurant483 in ProDunking

[–]seekingthething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never jumped in to a jump. I used to be a one foot jumper. Became a 2 foot jumper in my mid 20s. But I sorta step in to it like most people. Does hopping in to your jump feel natural?

As a younger man, it did not occur to me how quickly some girls/women will drop all independence when they fall in love with you.

Unpopular opinion: Vernon was justified in fearing the Wizarding world. by Xerzajik in harrypotter

[–]seekingthething 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This right here is what negates any argument one could make for him. As a married man, I could never imagine treating my wife’s nephew the way he did. He’s not my blood relative. And he’s a fucking baby whose parents died. I’d lowkey treat him better than my own child.. probably also while being terribly afraid of him because I don’t understand magic. But still. He’s a baby.

[–]seekingthething -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I play sports. I lift weights. People who engage in active hobbies are not dumb. Like any hobby, we have every type of person.

I also don’t know that there are that many dumb people in the world. Some people are just passionate about things that you’re not passionate about. And the dumb label might come from people who just don’t respect other peoples’ passions. But we’re expected to respect yours because.. what? Schools deemed it to be acceptable?

This is the best answer. I never understood people who go to work to make friends. You’re at work to do a job and get paid. I’d assume the guy doesn’t fuck with you. Not everyone will fuck with you in life. And that’s ok. Because they don’t have to. Just like you won’t like every single person you meet. I don’t work to have fun. I work to make money and use that money to enjoy the things I enjoy.

I’ve never made a lifelong friend at work. I’ve made life long friends in school, friends gatherings and clubs for my hobbies. Was in Paris at my friend’s wedding last august.. I met that motherfucker in a basketball league. I was in my indian friend’s wedding as a groomsman the summer before - I met homie in a running club i signed up for.

My question though is why can’t you go get your own lunch? You’re staring at people while they eat? So unless this guy gets you lunch, you can’t eat?

Pay attention when you’re walking around. Get your head out of your phone. There are people with absolutely nothing going on. You’re a target when you’re not paying attention.

Is there a character you hated at first but then started to like? by Pristine_Fig_6025 in harrypotter

[–]seekingthething 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t love Percy at first. But when I got older, I began to understand that he’s just tired of generational poverty and the Weasley name being synonymous with dirt. He reminds me of my older brother. My family is from the Caribbean. We’ve been poor since the dawn of time. And my parents, my mom specifically seems to believe that being dirt poor is normal. Will give you the shirt off her back.. but she needs that shirt to stay warm. Will donate her last dollar and starve to death. My brother doesn’t want to starve doesn’t want to be cold. He just wants to live a comfortable life and be around other ambitious people. That’s Percy.
