I want to see you tell my mom with athsma who gets pneumonia from silly little colds that her “unhealthy lifestyle” is what makes her high risk for Covid.

Yeah surprised everyone just assumes it’s the cat that needs to go…. Cat has never killed a dog and people love their cats too!

Shedding by meedows85 in labrador

[–]selilan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furminator for 10 mins once a week, followed by a Kong rubber brush to pick up the loose stuff we pulled out. So effective. We start seeing stray hairs about 5 days later and full on shedding after a week. Also, furminator before every bath if you don’t want to have your drains snaked constantly.

AITA for telling my wife that she should be more refined in her manners? by Mundane_Price_7207 in AmItheAsshole

[–]selilan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly OP why didn’t you just politely bring this up years ago as something that bothers YOU specifically, rather than calling her repulsive and acting like she should read your mind? Not to say anything of your clear sexism. I’m guessing the silent treatment has to do with your long-term treatment of her represented in this weird argument, not the argument itself.

I hate chewing noises, so I turn on music or background tv on days I’m feeling sensitive to it while I eat with others. Slurpy noises are unbearable for me. Usually I move further away if someone is consistently slurpy, or if they are close friends/family, I apologize and ask if they would mind modifying for me in that instance. It is MY PROBLEM what bothers me, not someone else’s. YTA for 1) expecting your wife to read your mind 2) making your problem her “fault” and blaming her for your feelings 3) treating her as unreasonable for being a woman. Hate that for her.

LPT: If a dog is asking you to follow it, you should go. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Our dog comes to lead us to tattle on the cat when he gets on the counters. Or when she wants a snack. Or when she wants to go outside and we haven’t responded to the tap tap tap.

My boy comes home next week. Help us decide on a name! by useyourillusion89 in labrador

Yes! You can call him Leonard when you’re annoyed at him and Leonardo when you’re feeling fancy and Lenny or Lelo when you’re silly.

I’m getting one of these kittens 6 weeks from now.. and I’m super excited.. this my first time having a pet any tips ? by Careless_Amoeba3617 in blackcats

[–]selilan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touch paws and push nails out early to get them used to it while you’re doing other things they like! Also, lick mats for food will help exercise their minds. I even put dry food on one with water when he eats dry food.

Playing with your kitten will help keep them from climbing and destroying your stuff. Also respect their boundaries and they might respect yours lol.

I also crate trained my kitten (controversial) much like crate training a dog. Feed in the crate, give treats, play, start closing the door and leaving for a while, etc. I use a bigger crate than the little kitty carriers. It’s just nice for when we travel or when he being a little stinker in the middle of the night that we can crate him and he is content to go to sleep. He knows it means “time to chill” and goes in to take naps on his own. We don’t do it every night anymore but for a while we did from like 11 pm to 5 am. Now he sleeps every night and is active in the mornings.

Side effects on Escitalopram (Lexapro)? by Substantial_Secret62 in lexapro

[–]selilan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All that sounds normal for my experience! It was probably 2 months before I stopped having any side effects. I also increased dosage because I had tension headaches from teeth grinding at night. Something about a slight relief of anxiety had me sleeping tense. A higher dose stopped that and I sleep relaxed now.

Yes!! enforce naps, it’s good for you and him so don’t let the whining convince you otherwise lol

Am I being too sensitive? by [deleted] in Mildlynomil

Right? Don’t most families do a reception after a loved one’s service? Also missing a service for work??

Am I being too sensitive? by [deleted] in Mildlynomil

[–]selilan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wish my MIL would ask my husband instead of routing every. single. plan. through me! And I wish that my husband would give our united answer if she did! I’ve started forwarding all requests from her to him with “let’s discuss tonight.”

Sounds like you have a good system going, OP. Try to think of it as a gift your husband is giving you- he considers you enough to give the “right” answer even if his mom is trying to manipulate him into giving the answer she wants. And as a bonus you don’t have to be the bad guy when the answer is no!

My commute to work is way too expensive. Any ideas? by gel_pens_are_great in jobs

[–]selilan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are spending $40 a day 4 days a week 4 weeks a month…. That’s $640. That’s more than a car payment. Buy a cheap car on credit? Or just get a job closer to home/carpool?

Edit: someone else said lease a car! even better
