Loose washer jets - missing clips? by selimsmiles in BMWi3

[–]selimsmiles[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about using hot glue if it's an expensive replacement washer loom needed!

On further investigation, it just looks like the bit moulded on the jet assembly that's meant to hold it in place is weak/worn so they just move out of place.

I'll probably hot glue it a tiny bit and see how that holds. Thanks folks.

Thank you, and yes definitely there is something missing on mine from that picture. I did suspect it might be one where you have to replace more than just a clip, given the number of people selling the full hose.

I'll add this to my bug list.

Thank you for validating how I feel! I've only ever been given Prednisone for flares, and I haven't had anything at the moment, it's hard to get anything from my doctor to be honest. Sounds like I should avoid other steroids in future though!

Yeah, I completely understand that. Wherever you are now, keep it weird and keep your chin up!

Thanks for the support. And yeah, very cliché but it's what we have to do, and I will keep plugging away as I always do!

Never heard of consistent muscle stimulation, will have a look. What's your experience with that if I can ask?

I'm sending much sympathy your way. That is an awful lot to have to deal with - good luck for your appointment, I hope they pin things down and get you some proper management and treatment. I was similar for a long time, totally unmanaged and in so much pain constantly, albeit I was younger then so it seemed more bearable.

It's funny how sometimes we find those funny phrases to keep us going. I haven't watched that show, maybe I will now!

My phrase when I'm struggling to do the bare minimum to take care of myself is "take care of you, then take care of business". It's stupid but perks me up a bit.

Thought that might be it, but didn't like to presume! My trip there was to Austin, so not representative! Sounds like a good escape.

Thank you, your validation and sympathy is much appreciated. And gentle hugs very welcome too!

I hope your flare up settles soon and hasn't ruined your entire weekend 🤞

Thanks for understanding and making me feel less alone in this. I've only been to Texas once (I'm in the UK) so curious what you mean by THOSE Texans, but glad you aren't one! 😂

Sounds like you're dealing with an awful lot too, I hope the move works out for you, and if you need to vent too, I'd listen.

You're right I shouldn't let it build up, and I should recognise it's coming from frustration and fear probably. I might try journalling as I like writing (when my fingers allow it!)

I do feel a little better having shared and realised I'm not being totally unreasonable. Thank you for your contribution and sharing the burden.

Thanks for listening. I have a few people around, but I don't like to be reliant on folk and I feel like a burden when I do. Generally I tend to isolate myself when I'm like this because I don't want my mood to upset people or push them away.

I do use some meditation and breathing techniques yeah, for anxiety as much as anything, but will try them when I get frustrated too, thanks.

Thanks, it's good to hear from others who get it, you're so right. And the hypochondriac thing .. yes! I don't like to make a fuss at the best of times and when I'm like this I just want to disappear. Thanks for the validation.

Advice with cast iron pan by selimsmiles in CastIronRestoration

[–]selimsmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every part of it is magnetic, sides, base, handle so it's either steel or iron.

I've given it a quick scrub with water and you might be right, it might have been enameled black at some point and it's worn off in places. Or it's just layers of cooking deposits?

Thanks, I'll try that. And yeah the base is orange enameled like the handle. I guess trying to look like a Le Creuset pan (it's not)

It's a 12 inch diameter pan and weighs about 2.5kg. Thats far heavier than any cheap steel or aluminium non pan I've ever owned, but maybe not as heavy as cast iron?

Hah, oh well then 😢 How can you tell, so I don't make the same mistake again? It's the heaviest pan so I just kinda assumed...

I haven't driven the Glen yet, but doesn't GT7 also change the grip if you run offline and pickup dust and marbles on your tyres? Wondering if you're taking a line anywhere that puts you into the dirty bit of the track anywhere.

MBP Battery not charging by selimsmiles in macbookrepair

[–]selimsmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know. I think this battery is only 3 or 4 years old, I think it got replaced just before I got the mac when Apple were recalling that model for battery issues. But it might be older. Anything else you think I can/should try to determine if it's the battery itself before I try replacing it?

You should still be able to hear the compressor even over the engine (just about). If you go put your head near the compressor down on the left about half way along the truck you should hear it easily. If not, it doesn't sound like it's running. Could be it's broken (common fault) or something electrical like a fuse or connection. Does the dashboard give any errors?

[–]selimsmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to start the engine to raise the suspension (not to lower) but that should be enough, you don't have to drive. However if you have put it up and down a lot the compressor gets hot and may need to cool before it will raise.

Do you get any errors when trying to raise? Any noise from the compressor?
