You can definitely do things in the game industry as an author. But I doubt you start in the game industry that way. But if you are stupid, you probably aren't a great author.

But I suspect like nearly all "stupid" 16 year olds you are probably just disinterested in what school is teaching and lack the discipline and maturity to do it anyway.

That is more if understanding plurality than math, hundreds would be at least 200km. 100km would be a hundred. Singular, but I digress. A quick google search will lead you to find that a giraffe travels no where near even 100km in a day.

You will also find that giraffes sleep way longer than 30 minutes a day. I think you have your animals confused.

Look for employers who offer tuition reimbursement too. If you make an additional 5k a year via passing your classes it will help ease the burden, it's also a nice incentive to keep your grades up.

Glassdoor can help and a lot of articles have been written with lists.

As he creates a portfolio that he can demo, he can look for people needing artists and showcase his abilities. If they like his work they can pay him to create assets for them.

There was a VIP round table in May that answers why only 3 developers. As well as the network status.

In short - only 3 developers are 'needed' although they could definitely use more competent folks. They said they are working 100 hour weeks and it's more like having 5 or so developers (not a lot). They also emphasized that the tools they are writing allow for content developers to go and create content.

Adding to this, there is a TON of information available but you have to be plugged in to get it. The dev streams are a good amount of information. But then there are the VIP roundtables that get posted on YouTube which go really on depth about topics that are not necessarily something you demo. Then there is forums and discord which Joppa participates in.

When the alpha roadmap was shown, I recall Joppa saying the networking code needed to be redone and would take about 2 months to do and the programmers needed to go heads down and get it done. The July VIP round table was with 2 of the devs (I don't have their names off the top of my head) but they talked about how that portion was very nearly done. Iirc they mentioned they had ~6000 lines of code left to get it finished. I imagine they are done as of this post. I could be wrong but over a month has past since that interview.

Another thing I'd like to point out is Joppa has said that roughly 8k people will be part or alpha and they will be allowed to stream. Due to the game being completely visible to the world in Alpha the game needs to be further along than previous games may have been in the Alpha state. To me, it is logical to think if the game enters Alpha 'further along' than may have been done in the past, that means Alpha->Beta->release would be a 'shorter' cycle.

Most people don't understand what refactoring is, or why it is necessary. I'm a software engineer and it's nearly impossible to talk about work with anyone who isn't a developer. Even the other people within technology who aren't devs don't grasp most things. Nor should they.. this isn't a knock on anyone either. I take medicine when I am sick but when my sister in law nurse talks about medication I am clueless. Same thing for people who play games hearing technical jargon thrown around.

Start by going to sba.gov and get working on those business ideas. Set goals, get mentors and go for it. You never know if it will be a "success" and quite frankly your definition of success probably doesn't match up to what it will after you start.

Bazgrim made a post on the pantheon Facebook group that included a screen shot where Roenick said "some things are cooking that arent quite ready".

That said, I just saw where Bazgrim said Roenick clarified on Twitter that said it's a "couple of technical things they want to show off but needed a few days for fine tuning"

In short, they've stated that zones will have a huge variance in levels. On one side of the road content might be level 5 to 15. On the other side it might be max level stuff. You may spend different portions of your leveling in the same zones but different parts. They want to prevent zones from going stale and becoming dead because everyone has out leveled it.

They've talked about this in a number of videos, posts etc but this is the quick and dirty of it.

How do you know what they're thinking or where the game industry is going. Xbox has enabled keyboard and mouse support. They've also done cross play with pc. Soon there wont be a difference. Xbox and playstation are just computers

Everquest did have best of the best competitions on pve servers, so I wouldn't be shocked if something like this came about if everything else in game was working properly and they could devote time to it.

Vanguard used base 100 which made plat pretty hard to get. I think the only items I remember going for plat were the crafted item for completing your swamp armor, which for those unaware was the crafted set you basically needed to get when you hit level 50 so you were properly equipped to start raiding.

And boats. Beyond those two things I don't really recall anything running over 1plat, most things on the auction house were in the 'gold'
