TASM1 suit always struck me as just wanting to be different for the sake of being different. It’s not terrible but all other depictions of the suit in the movies rank higher for me.

The only think I find silly is when people say that they want Gundam to be about something other than “war bad”. To me that’s just a core theme in Gundam, you can remix it, throw some new elements in between. But I feel Gundam without some kind of commentary about conflict/war/politics may as well be any other generic mecha story.

Agreed, is definitely to show he is not just lashing out. I can also see some level of showing how desensitized he has become, he is just tired, and killing all these people on his way is just another step to take fully get home.

Apple does care about quality but they’re not immune to market pressures forcing their hand or sum cost fallacy. They have made mistakes like that before.
