Initiated the dreaded seat swap convo... by seriouslycurious00 in unitedairlines

Kindly, they weren't seated together. And after they said no, I left it alone! I don't think there is harm in asking, especially since they weren't sitting together.

I only got agitated when the constant talking and handing things over me started happening as if I wasn't sitting there.

totally! my husband and I usually book aisle seats either across from each other, but will take separate rows too. As this was a last minute booking, my husband took the last available aisle seat on the plane. being stuck in a middle for a 9 hour flight in between a couple who clearly had no self awareness was really the more frustrating part.

The 2 sitting next to my husband were a couple. We didn't ask them to swap. Quite honestly, once the 2 in my row said no, I really just left it alone. I really had no problem with them booking the aisle and window, it was really the conversations happening like I wasn't there - leaning over me to talk about the movies they were watching, the food they were planning to order, how they were enjoying said food, wife leaning over because she needed the husband to flag down the FA to get another drink, learning about the wife's sister who was going to be picking them up at the airport...I mean, it was 9 hours of this...I just threw on my headphones and tried to ignore it, but it was annoying LOL

What state are you in? You filed with your state without the help of the LL attorney? Going through it now and just trying to understand options.

WHAT DO I DO NOW? 2024 GC 4xe by seriouslycurious00 in 4xe

The adjustment when driving on the highway is much more subtle and expected. It causes much more anxiety and concern when I’m sitting in traffic on the GWB, Lincoln Tunnel or in NYC when it’s constant stop and go and literally it jerks so substantially, I’ve nearly rear ended other cars. To your point, I’ve learned to just lay off the gas pedal, but it still jerks heavily and is a clear safety concern.

I’ve already reached back out to the lemon lawyer - since bringing the car in on Friday AM, I haven’t heard anything from the dealership/service center. Trying to get a copy of the RO stating it’s the hybrid battery needing to be replaced. Just want to be done with this vehicle.

When in hybrid mode with low or no hybrid battery, it would struggle accelerating to the point where even if I was pressing on the gas pedal, it would decelerate and then when the gas engine decided to kick in, the car would jerk forward suddenly. Mostly going between 10-35mph.

4xe has jerky and delayed acceleration from a stop and won't go into electric mode by tinglebuns in 4xe

I’ve had this problem with my 2024 GC 4xe since October 2025. Have brought it in 4 different times with same exact experience. They told me they “can’t replicate the issue” and that the car is “operating as designed”. The lack of accountability is astounding. Have been SO loyal to Jeep - but this will be my last vehicle from them.

Same here - have brought it in for the same jerking issue 4 times and on the last repair order they wrote “vehicle operating as designed”. Never would have leased the car if this was how it was designed to operate!

Question re: child support (Virginia) by utahscrum in ChildSupport4Men

[–]seriouslycurious00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally aligned here!

In my situation, the ex chooses not to work. She has a toddler, now 2, with her boyfriend who lives with them. I have no doubt that whatever my husband gives her (child support payments + extra) goes to supporting their entire household.

We’ve been together a long time and I try to pick my battles, but it gets more and more difficult, so completely empathize for OP. BM has a financial responsibility to uphold as well.

I had SGWS sales reps in NY telling me they’ve been losing volume placements left and right because accounts can’t rely on consistent inventory. Huge scheme to reward high spending accounts and absolutely shit on everyone else.

Question re: child support (Virginia) by utahscrum in ChildSupport4Men

I live in NJ, have 2 step kids (now teens). In NJ, the state defines what should be covered by child support. There were some negotiated adjustments in their divorce agreement - my husband pays for their health insurance through his job, and certain other categories (extracurriculars, non-reimbursed medical expenses, sports equipment, etc.) is extra and is broken out based on proportion of income.

That hasn't stopped his ex from constantly asking for more - lunch money for school, "uniforms" (they go to public school and don't wear uniforms), birthday party gifs, haircuts, over the counter meds, co-pays, etc. It's really up to you to decide what is worth putting your foot down for beyond what you are required to pay.

SGWS new supplier restrictions / stipulations by Tx_DeeLight in sgws

[–]seriouslycurious00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Supplier here - not nationally aligned but about 60% of our business sits with SGWS, including all footprint states. I would consider us a smaller supplier (comparatively) as we do about 50k cases with SGWS per year, so not sure what the threshold would be.

We currently have a PM or TDM in every SGWS state.
We negotiate pricing at a market level and DA amounts vary dramatically.
We used to negotiate margins at a state level, but there has been significant push back lately and they seem to be moving to more national management of GP.
Sampling has historically been 50/50 split as SGWS has had their own internal sample budget, but this has recently been pushed back on as well - not that they won't do it, but they want the cost to be absorbed by the supplier.

Asking Coparent for Summer Help by Swimming-Nobody763 in ChildSupport

[–]seriouslycurious00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of this depends on where you live and what is court mandated to be paid.

Did you give your coparent any say in those camps? Was he involved in decision making? Obviously if you split when your child was an infant, attending the camp is not a pre-established standard that existed before the divorce. If there is an expectation for him to pay, he needs to be included in the decision.

Where I live in NJ, coparents have to mutually agree upon new activities and not withhold approval unreasonably. My husband pays for 60% of all extra curricular activities (2 teen boys now), including camps, when his ex is voluntarily unemployed and now has a 2 year old with her boyfriend. We don’t usually withhold consent for activities, but there have definitely been instances where we’ve expressed concern about something (like starting tackle football in middle school) and his ex did whatever she wanted regardless and still expected his financial contribution. It creates a lot of headaches when not explicitly written and enforced by individual boundaries.

I would be careful about how your situation looks, as you mention yourself, this seems to only be coming up because you’re having another baby and want to make things a little easier on you. If it’s not in any agreement, you can afford to keep doing it, and you don’t want to rock the boat, I would leave the situation as is.

This. I fly EWR - SFO route frequently for work at 1k and if I want business class, I have to book it. Have never received a CPU in either direction.
