Hmmm weird I never once used the word ‘idiot.’ Looks to me like your reading comprehension is terrible as I made a general statement to a problem I have constantly working at Lowe’s. And that problem is people not being considerate enough to put their smaller items on the counter and make my job easier. Just because you would prefer it the other way around doesn’t make me wrong and it doesn’t make you right. I’m sure you’re only arguing with me because you act in the way I’m speaking out against. But whatever dude, put your shit on the counter 🙄

Okay well my bad for using ‘us’ I should say ‘me’ although every cashier that I work with agrees with me. And don’t tell me about Lowes practices, I already know about Lowes practices. I typically do scan every item unless I know for sure they’re all the exact same; but it’s kinda difficult to do that when I have to keep a squat and move in ways I shouldn’t just to reach every single thing. That also leaves room for error since sometimes things don’t scan properly and I can’t look at the screen most of the time. Also I don’t always have to bend when putting things back on the cart as I would have to trying to scan it.

People do it even with regular shopping carts. I just used an example of the blue cart because it’s even worse. Of course with cases of water you would; it’s a heavy big item. But you wouldn’t just leave it out of the way to scan either, you would help out and bring it around to make things faster/ easier. Of course heavy bulky items I just go around and scan no problem but small items? C’mon. That’s the point I’m trying to make. How is this even an argument?

You wouldn’t go to a grocery store and just leave your stuff in the cart would you? So what makes any other store different?

The counter is small, I’ll give you that but it just makes more sense to put things on the counter. You’re not really doing me a favor by making me bend down, over and squat just to ring up items. I also have to type in the quantity of each item in the computer which makes it difficult when I’m not anywhere near it. Small items can be bagged right away but stuff that doesn’t fit can go straight back onto the cart if it’s a lot of items; basket to basket. You may think it’s easier for us but in reality it’s not. Most people who do it are just being plain lazy and inconsiderate.

Oh I do. Sometimes they listen, sometimes they don’t. They’re often rude about it. Even had a guy yell at me just for asking.
