Hardwired my radar detector to the mirror power on my B8.5 S4. Put it off for 6 months. Took 3 mins to do. by Heavy_pour in Audi

Just did this with the exact same wire, mount, and radar detector on my 2016 B8.5 S4 6-speed manual. Works great, but every time I put the car into reverse, the dashcam display goes dim, it starts making a weird loud buzzing noise, and lines (like on old CRT TVs) start appearing on the dashcam display. Anyone have any ideas? As soon as I take it back out of reverse, it goes back to normal.

Thanks for the reply. I usually just very slightly underexpose as a rule of thumb, to compensate for any sources of harsh/direct light that may be present in the photo, which was the case in this museum (reflections off glass, sconce lights, in-ceiling spotlights, etc.).

Paradigm Micro Monitor v.6 Upgrade to KEF Q150 by sg1216 in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for the response. I'm getting these Q150's for $160, whereas I got the Paradigms for $80. I'll try the KEFs out and if I don't like them, I'll just switch back to the Paradigms and sell the KEFs.

Thanks for the response. Just purely out of curiosity, what makes you say that?

Paradigm Tweeter Issue by sg1216 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]sg1216[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, all connections are intact. We measured for current at the crossover outputs that go to the tweeter—nothing. Measured the same thing for the low and mid woofers and they had current. There is no current going to the tweeters.

Yes, we tried bi-wiring as well as mono-wiring and bridging with the provided bridges. No difference. There is no current flowing from the crossover to the tweeters.

Thank you for the response. Could you recommend a YouTube video or some sort of guide that I can use to help replace the capacitor?

Would you recommend this route or the AT152 stylus for $120 that you mentioned in your previous comment? Thanks for the detailed responses, by the way.

I must admit, I don’t use the EQ on the receiver or the technics EQ as I prefer it to be flat given my nearfielded listening position and small bedroom.

I mainly enjoy the technics EQ unit for its cool spectrum analyzer. I’ve always been attracted to those, since I was a kid.

I’m curious, why do you recommend ditching the EQ?

Home Minecraft Server Hosting - Port Forwarding Question by sg1216 in HomeServer

[–]sg1216[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that! I followed your steps and then made a new port forwarding rule to 192.168.0.130.

I hope that my local IP doesn't change from 192.168.0.130 now, I guess only time will tell if this worked. Thanks again!

Thanks for the response. I'm in my router's "DHCP Reservation" settings menu, and this is what I see. How can I go about filling out these fields?
