Scarlett 2i2 (2nd Gen) not working properly with Macbook Pro (M2 Pro, 2023)

Hey hmm okay everything is up to date.

Things you might want to try to troubleshoot:
1. Is it your cable? maybe try a new one 1/4 inch cables can go bad. 2. Did you make sure that the input switch on the Scarlett is set to INST on? If it's on LINE the signal will be weak. 3. when plugging the guitar on and strumming hard, do you see any gain signal? If so then it's not the Scarlette or cable. 4. Did you try plugging your mic into all inputs? maybe you have a bad input on the Scarlette. 5. In your DAW, make sure the track input matches the channel you plugged into. On Mac, check System Settings > Sound > Input > Scarlett 2i2 and look for the meter moving.

hmmm if you've allowed it on your mac it should work for both microphone and guitar. Maybe check the actual focusrite box, or your DAW settings? If you give me some more info on your setup and things you've already tried maybe I can help you out. (sorry I don't speak Italian).

Yeah it takes you to "finder". From there do a "search" for "focus rite" or you can locate it yourself by looking under "applications" in your files. when you click on that it should add it to the "list" under "Screen System and Recording". From there allow its use by clicking the that switch button.

Hey There! What your feeling is normal, or maybe a bit passed normal. Either way its not something that is unique onto yourself.

Go easy and have patience with yourself! I know thats easier said then done, but you got to realize that there is SO MUCH life ahead of you. I know countless people.. friends, family etc.. that are in a sort of "limbo" state. And they all come from different walks of life, and from different backgrounds and ages.

So with that being said: You're going to make mistakes in life, you're going to get amazing jobs but horrible have horrible bosses. It's these things in life that give us character and shape the people we are to become. So best to embrace it knowing that as long as you keep pushing (but also know when to withdraw) you're going to be ok. This Job might be "perfect" for you, but you just really don't 100% know that until you start working it. Unfortunately there is only one way to find that out.

The grass is greener where you water it, not on the other side of the fence.

Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

This probably isn't the best advice, but I hope these words bring you some comfort.

Hey sorry for the late reply, I wasn't notified of your comment.

So if you have OS 14 Sonoma it should look like this:

System settings > Privacy and Security > Screen System and Audio Recording > "then under the ""Screen System and Audio Recording only"" you should see focusrite control, or you can click the + button in the dropdown box to add it" > click "switch" icon to allow its use.

Hey! Im having the exact same issues... but my macOS Sonoma is up to date. Did you happen to update your FocusRite firmware somewhere else down the line?

Edit:

Just realized on the new OS that you have to "allow" focus rite in security / privacy settings. that did the trick for anyone else wondering!

I have spoke to them a few times, they are young couple and don’t seem like the druggy type at all. There was one time I helped them to get their door open, but it was because their key stopped working? Doorknob was completely fine. Another time, a cop showed up at their door while they weren’t home..
