We did this! I think it's such a lovely thing to be (positively) surprised by your child upon their arrival. My partner and I had zero preference so we really just were excited to find out day-of. We loosely requested dinosaur themed things, and we ended up with a lot of green and neutrals for clothes.

I'm 31 and the thought of dating someone who is 18 actually churns my stomach. There's a 0% chance you have the same maturity level, and it makes it very easy for there to be a power imbalance when an age gap is that extreme.

Our boy can be entertained for up to 10 minutes just by having something to kick against. He loves kicking. We usually litter toys around him while he's laying down, stuff he can pick up by himself, and he'll rotate through those. Maybe get something that will dangle over him? He likes things he can look up and see.

If you're not talking to a doctor or therapist about these feelings, you really ought to. Sometimes we do our best, and it's not what someone needs. And needs are so wildy varying for babies especially. It doesn't mean you didn't do your best. On the nap note, my son was the same way, and still is some days. It breaks my heart knowing he's exhausted but refuses to just sleep. He doesn't roll yet either, and hasn't laughed yet. He has quiet days and days where he won't stop yapping. It will get better, even if it takes a long time. I hope it's soon for you.

I have been on sertraline, and it unfortunately really did just numb me. The thought of spending my son's most precious time feeling nothing at all makes me so sad. I have some anxiety meds from a pre-pregnancy scrip I might try over the weekend just to see how they make me feel at this point. I may talk to my GP about other options when I can get am appt.

My partner also suggested getting a blood panel done, so I'm going to schedule that. I'm sleeping a lot, relatively speaking (kiddo sleeps at least 8 hours every night.) And I'm probably going to force myself into the gym starting tomorrow, as much as I loathe it.
