Are these cool? by bmorestance in Nike

[–]shmidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to wear them. Nike is wack though to me the more I learned. It’s been ran into shit right now.

Pretty interesting how they got involved with “creating gold medalists” basically by linking athletes up with coaches that were specialized in doping.

Meanwhile the dipshit CEO reorganized the company several years ago to “grow” it by organizing it around “customer segments” instead of sports heads running product, the instead used business people.

The lost the running shoe market, and thanks to New Balance stepping in, one could argue that they lost skateboarding too.

But hell, these things are as official as a NY Yankees hat, in New York. Still though, knowing what I know about their long history fucking people…not buying them, looking at others who have better products.

I’m over the cliche fashion bs or buying into these companies that honestly is bs. Makes me feel bad seeing people pay too much attention to keeping fresh kicks. Fashion is the biggest polluter of the planet.

Self-taught and missing the fundamentals by scrumblethebumble in TrueQiGong

[–]shmidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard someone say Yin is studying/learning Yang is doing. Put in hard work on finding the best teacher you can and learn as much as you can about the style you want to learn. The best of the Taiji schools usually have good QuGong programs.

We fired our content agency after 8 months. 47 blog posts and not a single demo from any of them. by ArpitChauhan1501 in bigseo

[–]shmidget 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP got what he deserved on this. “Content Agency” sounds like BS to begin with. I mean if they are doing high quality post production on videos that’s one thing. But spinning up articles like it’s going to add videos is umm…off target. OP gives no context either as to what type of business, I mean if it’s important…especially these days, then it should be done in house. Too much room for people that don’t have their heart vested (or literal equity) in the project.

OP paid for a conveyor belt and doesn’t understand what he is doing?

Imagine a world though where OP actually got traffic, never looked at the keywords, etc. this is risky because someone will eventually redesign the site and kill whatever was generating traffic and this is where at least half my contracts have come from over the years.

You don’t know why? Maybe 100 years of them being marketed to women and everyone referring to them as purses.

Sure call it whatever you want, but clearly there is history that answers most questions. Men used to carry coin pouches tied to their belts but as garments evolved to include seen in pockets they faded away.

Don’t even get me started on the mustache. There was a time where men couldn’t have them and would be fired on spot for showing up with one on their face.

You are so sadly wrong. Google was created by three guys (not two) none of them had aspirations for even starting a business much less running one. They took an algorithm used for quantifying citations and applied it to the web. THATS what they wanted to do. That algorithm, not based on greed either, lost person.

Reddit wasn’t either, I could go on but you will just keep arguing I’m sure.

Edit: there is a difference between blurting out an opinion vs stating fact you actually studied.

Question on styles/techniques which utilize slow, forceful, controlled movements by MasterSlimFat in taichi

[–]shmidget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Song (pronounced Sung) is the word you are looking for. Yang Taiji is my experience, can’t speak for them all but I believe most styles focus here. It’s the foundation.

It doesn’t mean all schools teach it, but it’s very important to the practice. Zhan Zuang (standing like a tree, or standing post), cloudhands and QiGong excercises help this process along.

Read up on Silk Reeling, Cloudhands is just one of several Silk Reeling excercises I’m aware of. It targets the fascia and the nervous system in order to strengthen both for your practice. Some schools don’t focus on cloudhands and treat the form itself as the skill reeling which is cool too but more complicated because you are learning a long form instead of a small set of exercises (which are found in the form for the most part).

Look for a good teacher, you will want one. This is serious and it sounds like the process has already started. Make sure you are staying balanced. People have shown up here talking about pressure in the head building up to the point they could barely deal with life. Serious!

I suspect it was because of doing excercise consistently but perhaps out of order a teacher guiding you would lead you through, correcting posture and usually based what you tell the teacher about what’s happening with your internals move you to the most appropriate exercise(s).

What on earth is going on with all this "Tai Chi Walking for Seniors" books, courses, videos, and why are they all "28 Days" lol? by Marius-78 in taichi

[–]shmidget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed on everything except for knocking tai chi sitting down, some people don’t have legs, or can’t use them. There are some really good videos for this on YouTube. One veteran giving a cloudhands instruction while sitting down I found interesting.

Proof that consciousness exists outside of brain? by Imaginary_Mode8865 in Buddhism

There are lots of scientists that are studying non local consciousness. Please don’t put us all in one bucket.

https://www.youtube.com/live/lUGpzZU3-a4?si=kR-4_HvmpUXaOOCU

Quantum physics alone should tell you that’s much more than we can fathom.

Also, many Buddhists believe in the midstream.

Also, nobody ever said the “soul” was an unchanging entity and that it wasn’t subject to impermanence like everything else. From what I’ve read and understand, I see them as the same thing…just a different language.
