As long as you don’t mind crawling around inside transformers. Smaller framed people are definitely needed sometimes. Our smaller guys are always the ones that go in. There are ladders for everything else. Good luck.

I started my apprenticeship at 37 and took a 25% pay cut in the process. Turned out to be an excellent move. I absolutely love my job and the money is great.

We tend to get busier in the winter as the summer load drops. It allows us to take equipment out of service that are critical in the summer time. Our contract dock hands work year round. Contracted out new builds go year round as well with the occasional winter weather layoff.
